Now there's an idea. You are remote enough and could serve two purposes for some members. Guys with work to be done could bring their basses to you and see and play samples of your work at the same time. Even better if you could find a venue in Greeneville, IMO. Either way, I'm in if at all possible.
In all seriousness, I'm itching for another GTG. The first we had was outstanding, the rest of them I tried to host dwindled to a final no show a couple years ago. Would love to see all my ETTB brethren again.
I agree with Richard and Jeff's sentiments on a GTG. Let's see if we can make something happen this fall. The questions are always when and where, as well as who all will make the effort to be there. Hopefully we can, as a group who've been around for a few years now, answer those and make it happen.

I am, as always, but, I know that Jeff's wishbass will definitely not be ready. The Dingwall...definitely maybe...lol
I spoke with my girl, and we can fit 10-12 people tops, inside the house, throughout various rooms. I do have ample parking, I will keep the coffee flowing, and I have an in-house drummer. If anyone plays guitar...bring an electric, as I have a vintage Princeton Reverb, as well as two acoustic guitars. I will move out the big cabs, into the shop, for other people's gear. Ask anyone, who has been here, it's a welcome place. I encourage music and good times, at the House of Thump.
I ask that it be on a Saturday, because of my girl's scheduling. She wants to jam, with as many people as possible. I also have a Golden Retriever, so dog allergies might be a problem. I have a gig on the 17th. So, I am throwing my name in the hat, to host. Throw some dates around, and, hopefully, we can make it happen. Fair warning, though, for those who have not been here, it is in Limestone; between Greeneville and Jonesborough.

It's a warm and friendly environment, and the coffee is the best in the world, and I've been all over the world!

Haven't commented yet, as we've been super busy and are having trouble managing 4 schedules over the next month or so, but I'm really jazzed about this. If I ever have time for a GTG, it would surely be one this local!
Paul, you probably invited me already, but remind me where your gig is this Saturday? I might actually be free, and my SO is out of town. I smell an opportunity to get into trouble...!
Edit: Wait. A. Second. Are you guys playing R&R?! If so... I didn't get tickets this year.

unfortunately, this one is a birthday party. And, as far as R&R, I doubt that we will ever play it. The band is mostly classic rock. I like playing with them, but, we are nothing serious. I would definitely rather spend my time in the shop...got too much to do, and not enough time (in my own mind). Quitting the day job, to build and repair full time, cannot come soon enough. But, I can't do that until I am completely swamped, and I am not even close to being thee yet. I am only partially swamped..lol
unfortunately, this one is a birthday party. And, as far as R&R, I doubt that we will ever play it. The band is mostly classic rock. I like playing with them, but, we are nothing serious. Update, on the GTG...
I know a date has not been discussed yet. I will make a couple of suggestions, for those who are interested in attending. To help me out, bring your favorite coffee cup. We can wash it when you are ready to go; any snacks or beverages, if you plan on staying, for a while, and don't really care for that much coffee...
And, last, but not least, (and this might entice some "on the-fencers") Bring an XLR cable, or whatever your line out is, on your amp. There is a mixing board, in the music room, several mics, and a digital interface, to a stand-alone terminal. I plan on recording our jams, and posting them. I am unsure if this has ever been done, before, but...why not?!?!
I will have a pro-level audio engineer and a phenomenal southern rock and slide player (both close personal friends, as well as bass players), on hand, and Lea Anna, who is an up and comer, with the drums, but, She is solid, with most styles, has a solid pocket, and a great groove. Plus, she lives with me, so she kinda has to be there, and if I don't let her jam...well...ya know.
Start throwing some dates around. I would like next month, as I will have Jeff's AB finished, before that, and I can acquire a smaller cab, and move the monster cabs into the shop, for more room.

My only request would be that the date avoid UT home games as my wife and I have season tickets and attend all home games. 10/1, 10/8 and 10/29 are all away games. The only home game in October is 10/15 (Alabama).

oh..one more thing. My old smartphone is dead. I am using a retired slider, from 2010, which means I no longer have any numbers. My only methods are E-mail and TB, when I am home. If you want my immediate attention, shoot me a text (for those who know me)
