The bluegrass band of the past 5 years only played a few honky tonks, thankfully--I really had my fill of playing in those years ago, so I've avoided any possible entanglements that would take me back down that road. No qualms about grabbing a beer or a bar burger in one, but seriously don't want to work until 2am in one any more.

No, not the band Chicago, but that would be great! The drummer says he studied under the same teacher as Danny Seraphine though.

Very appreciative of the opportunity, only time I have any real growth spurt as a musician is when I surround myself with superior talent and step out of my comfort zone. A lot of material to cover that I can't just show up and play reflexively, so that's a good challenge for me.

I'm a big fan of the Sunn 300T/Fender 300 PRO all tube heads. Heavy, but love the tone.

This may be bending a TB rule, but I wanted to share this CL post with my East TN brothers. I have no connection to the seller, I just love these amps, and this one seems to be a pretty good find. If I didn't already have two of these heads, I'd pick it up just to have it.

Less than five months ago I drove to darn near Washington DC to buy a backup for my 300 PRO, and paid a LOT more for just the head alone. Would have loved to have grabbed this one locally and saved a bunch of money. Oh well......

Part of his ad is badly worded, the cabinet is not adjustable from 2 to 8 ohm, but the head is.

I doubt I'm breaking a TB rule, as I have no affiliation with the seller. I do know that for sale postings outside of the classifieds is a no-no. I actually called the guy and told him he would have better luck if he created an account on TB and listed it, but he didn't seem to be in a hurry to sell, and thanked me for the advice.

Welcome to the forum, and to the instrument! Lot of good folks on this ET forum, look around and ask questions. Plenty of knowledge here, I know of at least one good luthier who hangs out here as well.

Summer is rolling in east Tennessee! I'm glad Cleric got things going again here. I am playing Mame at Oak Ridge Playhouse next month, after a two year absence there. It will be good to be back, and I'll be working with four of my favorite musicians again.

Two new basses to report. Shouts out to my man Dennis Konicki at Sweetwater Sound in Ft. Wayne, IN. He's a very knowledgeable dude and bassist, look him up.

The first is an Ibanez Aerium 4-string fretless and the other is arriving tomorrow, an Ibanez Cerro 4-string fretted. I'll get some pictures up of the Aerium, but here's one of the Cerro. I always liked those since they came out a couple years ago, and this one's burl pattern did it for me.

Congrats on the upcoming show and the new basses Michael. I'll be looking forward to playing that Ibby fretless.

I picked up a couple of new to me basses as well. Some of you may have missed it, but I traded my American Deluxe Jazz V for a Stingray 5. I've never really warmed up to the Fender preamp and thought several times about trading it for an American Standard 5. I found a guy on here that wanted to trade the SR5, in Lava Pearl no less, for an American Deluxe Jazz 5. We made the trade and everything was great until I realized I no longer owned a Fender Jazz. TB classifieds to the rescue again. I found an American Standard Jazz 5 that is a twin to my 5 string P. Same year, same color, same PG and same fretboard. Got a good deal on it as well. I'm up to 9 basses but currently GAS free!!
