East Tennessee Talkbass

True! East is prettiest. Nashville is cool though for it's history and scene. Not been to Memphis yet.

Agreed. I'm not disrespecting Nashville or Memphis at all. I've been to both and loved them both. That's one of the great things about TN; it's beautiful from end to end. Not too sure about that stretch of I40 between Nashville and Memphis though (too busy dodging pot holes to notice). I really wouldn't want to live anywhere else, though. We are truly blessed.

Greeneville Checking In!!! 20 year player, the scene here is dead.... Except for the General Morgan Inn and Ella's, that's pretty much it for Greeneville. I love that you started this thread! Subbed!!!! I have lived here all my life (except time with Uncle Sam) and I agree, there's not a prettier place I know.

+1...Cherokee lake is awesome.

The big music cities are cool to visit but just WAY too many outstanding musicians starving to death on Beale St. and Printers Alley. Rather do the day job and live here.

Really? I make that trip a few times a year because of school and never see any potholes. Then again, it's hard to see em when you're going 90ish lol.

It's been almost a year now. They may have repaired them by now. I have to admit, TN has the best maintained roads of any state I have traveled in.

Man, oldschool- you are quotable!

20 cents a gallon state gas tax at work!

I love that second sentiment and I agree. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else either.

It is so good to see this thread taking off. The main Tennessee thread has gotten so big it was hard to find the ET people, and there really are a lot more of us than I realized. This is terrific.

Agreed. On the TN thread, you mentioned a MEG(Meet/Eat/Greet). You may want to copy and paste that here so we can get something together in the not-too-distant future. I wouldn't care to put something together around here, but getting guys from Knoxville to drive to Motown would probably be sketchy, at best. More likely, someone from Knoxville is going to need to host. I do have that Moose gig this Saturday night though, if anyone is game.

Haha, oldschool, I wish it was the case for me that it was hard to get me to Motown. So far, every gig my new band has played has been at the Downtown in Motown, and I'm loading up for practice tonight in Dandridge. :hmm: Oh well, it's totally worth it to play with the best group of musicians I've ever had the opportunity to jam with! :bassist:

A bit of shameless self promo, but if anyone's interested, we're playing the Longbranch Saloon (Knoxville, Cumberland Ave. strip) on Feb. 5, 9 PM, 18+, $5 cover. Check us out at Link Removed

I'd love to see a few of you there!
