East Tennessee Talkbass

If anybody else in the Knoxville area is looking for drummers, please PM me. How funny that a bass player can recommend drummers for work! But I can, indeed.

Jedi- wish I was in your position! I'm glad you are hiring a drummer. Let all of us know when you get your band together and when you are playing, ok?

A final post for the evening. I've been raising heck over in the Genz Streamliner pt 3 thread earlier- about ready to call it a night.

When would everyone like to schedule the MEG (Meet Eat Greet) in Knoxville? Let's talk up a time frame for that, and then we can figure out where. And let's do it in February if we can!

Michael

Thanks Michael V for the drummer recommendation. I called him and was ready to arrange a tryout.... then a drummer that we'd tried out came in to help us w/ a guitarist audition, and he (drummer) proved he'd been doing his homework, something the other leading candidate "never got around to" and he blew our socks off! The guitarist shocked the crap out of us too! Everything was ON!!!

So now I have to call 2 guitarists and 2 drummers to let them know that we won't be doing any more tryouts.

YES!!! I'll let you guys know when we're ready for a gig.

I'm booked this Friday night (11th) and the 26th. Other than that, I'm open for February.

Good news to hear, Jodi. Definitely let all of us here in ET know when you gig.

I was being premature the other night- February may be too soon to try to get something up. For now, let's try to MEG at one of our gigs- if anybody's playing one night the rest of this month or in March, and you think it'd be a good venue for it, let us know here and we'll talk it up.

Wouldn't necessarily be good for a MEG sort-of-gathering, but probably some of us at least wouldn't mind coming out to a worship service for those of us who are playing at church in the area. I'll come out for a service for one of you all to say hello, but I'm not currently playing in church myself. Having said that, the guy who plays at my church, Brent Connors, is really, really good and worth coming to hear.

I'm in Asheville, NC...just over the mountains, but I'd trek over there for a GTG and bring some of the Asheville crew...(Bunch of great basses here in AVL)

My band The Archrivals are playing in Morristown at the Downtown on the 18th of February...synth rock/jazz fusion..come out if you're not gigging.
