East Tennessee Talkbass

I hope I can make the next GTG.....I would love to check out some of the basses you guys have!!!!
If anyone is interested, I have several things up for sale/trade and added some trade bait to my Aguilar 4x12 GS Series cab. I may still have this stuff by the time we get to the next GTG...I would be glad to bring anything I have if anyone is interested!!! :hyper::hyper:

Jeff, it's amazing to me that it's already been a year since I met you. This was at the Soul Driver performance at Cinco De Mayo in Maryville last year. We did talk again when I played "Annie Get Your Gun" at the Clayton Center, but we haven't gotten to hang out since then.

Let's work up this next GTG and make it happen. I'm definitely looking forward to meeting all our east Tennessee gang.

Seems like yesterday! This was the first Cinco De Mayo show I haven't played for in 4 years! I celebrated with visiting my parents in Johnson City and taking my 3 yr old grand-daughter with me for the trip. I miss the stage, but there are many other things in life to be grateful for!

Any prospective dates, or dates to avoid for the GTG? I need to call and book the church building if we plan to use it again.

Dude, I don't know how you hardcore guys do it!?!? As much as I love to gig, I still wouldn't wanna do more than 2 weekends a month and I'd hate to miss (cause gigging is work) the holidays w/ family and friends.

Wow, this is a good exercise! I may post a calendar of "no good" dates and through the process of elimination we can come up with a date for the next GTG!

@JJ, yes, it got old which is why I had to give it up. I still miss it on occasion, but playing at church scratches the itch a little;)

Chiming in from sunny Florida. Jeff playing every weekend is the bomb man!
Should be back on tb more frequently now that finals are over :) can't wait for the next gtg!

Playing every weekend??? Work all week, shlep gear Fri and Sat, and start the workweek again Sunday night.... every week?? No thanks. Luckily, 2/3 of my bandmates have wives and kids also and feel the same. The other 1/3 has another band that will gig often enough to give us some weekends off :-).

and even my wife says that she is hot!

I made it two weeks before adding another to the stable.

This thing through the Kilo sounds incredible !

Working on a 5'er now.

I have a friend that just got a bongo just like yours, and he loves it. I must try it!!

If you can't run his down, I'll bring it to the GTG. I will probably have a 5er by then as well, but in HS versus HH.

I couldn't put the stupid thing down last night. Usually I bounce through a bass or two during personal practice. Not last night. Something about the way the money strings sound (E & A). Really tight and full without being muddy.

The only thing that I can take or leave is the paint on the back of the neck. It's not bothersome but I did take note that I clearly prefer the feel of wood, either oiled or satin finish. The 5 that I have my eye on will have to go to Marty Bell and I am certain that he can help me 'adjust' that! :p

Yeah he's in California so I won't be seeing his Bongo. I'm also lusting for a Big Al w/ 3 single coils!

No problem, I'll bring this one.

And you just had to bring up a Big Al. Please stop contributing to the delinquency of another bass player by making additional suggestions for purchase. I get in enough trouble on my own !

Look forward to meeting you FTF !
