Hey guys!!! Just an FYI for everyone; I have decided to sell my Aguilar GS Series 4x12 cabinet (I have not had it long; I just realized I prefer 10's over 12's; at least for now).:hiding::hiding:
I would love to get it to somebody local if there is interest for it. It is a great cab; MASSIVELY LOUD with tons of headroom. I already replaced it with another cab so I am just looking to sell it right now. Details are in the thread.

Haven't heard much talk recently about the idea for a Summer gtg. I'd really like to attend the next one, but since summer is the time for holidays and travel etc. some fore-planning needs to be done. Any chance we could set a target date?

zoomie - I strongly recommend Berg cabs, but I'm not sure the description of what you're looking for is the same as what they are. The distinctive feature with Bergs is a very smooth mid sound. There's no harshness there at all, so for those who are looking for something to cut through a lot of volume, I'm not sure it's the way to go. To be fair, I haven't heard their large cabinets, so maybe those are different. The 112s are as high quality as you can get, but I think the goal is quality over quantity.
For those that play at massive volumes the fearfuls seem to be hugely popular. Also, the Thunderchild 15 is the 8th wonder of the world. A pair of those would handle an insane amount of power, push a ton of air and still be easy on the back. They are 4ohm cabinets, however.

Jeff PM'ed me about ideas for the summer GTG, I eventually got around to replying to him on it, but we haven't exchanged PMs since then. I would bet he's been exceptionally busy lately. We haven't seen him on here much since the first GTG. Maybe he'll check in over the weekend.

Been lurking for a while and busy. Throw some dates out when everyone would be available, the church is agreeable with letting me use it for another GTG. After the date is set, PM me or Michael with "trade" bait or "for sale" items, we will try to get that sent out well in advance of the next one.

Jeff, it's amazing to me that it's already been a year since I met you. This was at the Soul Driver performance at Cinco De Mayo in Maryville last year. We did talk again when I played "Annie Get Your Gun" at the Clayton Center, but we haven't gotten to hang out since then.

Let's work up this next GTG and make it happen. I'm definitely looking forward to meeting all our east Tennessee gang.

The BIG Berg cabs DO have volume as well as quality :).

I've got my eye on a rare bass, so....

I'm going to list my '77 Ibanez DOUBLENECK bass and guitar :bassist: that I bought in '10 and spent a fair amount of time and $$ bringing the bass side back up to better than original condition (ALL NEW: 2 pups, selector switch, pots, and a Hipshot bridge). I'd prefer to sell it locally due to the size and weight. It comes w/ a metal case said to have belonged to Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac. I've got over $1100 invested, plus my time doing all the repairs. I'll sell it locally w/ case for $950 or until I get funds from other items... then I'll keep it :). Both sides play and sound GREAT!!

I'm also going to put the wonderful Berg NV425 back on the block at a crazy low LOCAL price of $825!! No longer made and in fanastic condition AND COMES WITH A COVER.

I still regret not being able to make the GTG so setting a date would be great so I can guard it with my life. If anyone is taking a poll, my availability is wide open with the exception of the week and weekend surrounding July 18th and 19th for an out of state fishing tourney.

Almost everything I have is easily found and fondled production stuff. Still, be happy to bring anything that I have. I have still doing a lot of horse trading so who knows what new goodies will show up by then. I will bring the Kilo and the little BX-500 as they are less common around town. I have got the new Aguilar P bass pick up(s) in my Highway one P that sound great to my ears. I'll post a list when we get closer and drag along anything someone wants to noodle.

I still still don't know what I intend to do about a cabinet or cabinets for the Kilo. There are so many choices. Currently taking my time because cabinets aren't easily traded and or sold. This is why I REFUSE to acknowledge the post above. "What Berg cabinet? I don't see a Berg cabinet!"

I don't know if this is possible or not, but what would be cool would be if we had a couple of basic tracks of guitar and drums of familiar songs and then one guy could play the different basses along with them so we could hear how they sit in a mix. The same guy would need to play them. It would work for A/Bing amps or cabs or basses.
Something to think about.

Thats a great idea.

I will be at the next one. I just scored a tc electronic rs 212 cab...........that on its side with the 2 210's stacked on top on their side is a small wall...........INCREDIBLE.

no new warhorses tho..............

lets make this happen! ( i want to see that purple sparkle jazz!)

It would be cool if all the tricities guys could carpool.

Brick, I have a full size truck with a shell. I am certain that we could get it all in the truck unless you're bringing FOH gear for an outdoor! You can drag it up here and we can transload! rofl

I'll bring the sparkle purple Jazz so everyone can check out the quality of Marty's work.

I am also working on a very different custom paint job for a Bongo. I am certain that the Bongo guys will freak out and gather a lynching party. Fortunately I can run really fast for a guy that loves bacon. I'll find out today if it's doable. I am sure that Marty Bell will be cussing me before the day ends.
