Hey JJ, I just bought a new router, never used one before. Want to bring your bass over and we can try it out?
I can only think of one person I know I would trust with that kind of job, but he has his hands pretty full. I'll ask around and let you know....
Thanks Jeff. I want to add a split P pup between the bridge and pickguard. I may get more wood removed under the guard and add a preamp and battery... not sure yet. But, this MIJ Fender really surprised me. I ordered it and it sets up as good as my US Laklands and has all my favorite specs: 1.625" nut width, tiny frets, super light weight, maple board. It was worth the coin for the black Hipshot upgrades! Now I need to make it fit into my sound demands ;-).
JJ, I asked my friend, he recommended Jon Goldstein in Jackson Square Oak Ridge. He gets mentioned a lot in this thread, so he's either that good or we don't know anyone else lol.....
one and the same, yes. He's done a variety of work for me over the years, and knows what he is doing when it comes to acoustic instruments. Electrics, and routing? I can't vouch for him, but if he can't do it he might be able to refer someone.

Nice bass! They enjoy an almost cult like following. The split at the bridge sounds very interesting. Can't wait to hear your commentary upon completion.

I already have a few P/J basses and they suit me better than a straight P. But, I prefer dual pickup basses to have 2 of the same pups so the output is the same. Also, my love for stingray style basses (humbucker near the bridge) has led me in this direction.

The day is almost upon us! I will try to have a registration table at the entrance for name tags, we are all pretty familiar with our TB handles, this will help put name, face and handle together.
I am so glad I'm going to get to make it! The musicians' readthrough for Charlie Brown was rescheduled to 2 PM tomorrow due to a conflict, but I asked the music director if she could move it to 5 PM, and she did. So I'll be there, but I'll have to head out sometime before 4 - the readthrough is in Halls! I'll probably have to bring less gear than I wanted to, just in the interest of getting reloaded and on the road on time.
Good idea on the name tags, Jeff! I'm not good with names, I suspect most of us aren't, and name tags will remove that little bit of anxiety. Also, what is the earliest we can arrive there? I'd like to get everything out and set up early this time.

If anyone wants to see the pictures from the July 2012 GTG or save a copy of one or more of them, you should do it now, because I will take those down when I put up the pictures of tomorrow's GTG.
The pictures are on the first page of the ETTB Part 2 thread (the one we're in now.)
Edit, post-GTG: Never mind. I didn't take any pictures today. There weren't other ETTB'ers to take pictures of, or their gear. The count was 3, total. Hopefully, every one's seen Jeff's gear by now, and I was leaving as smcbass got there.

Michael, I will try to be there around 1:30 setting up, so if you want to come early that would be fine.
Too much to do today including a birthday party and working from 10p to 6:30a later on... :-(
