Jedi, you always have nice gear to move. I'm looking to sell my SR700 so that I can buy an ATK800. If you run into one of those let me know. I hope to be in the market in the not too distant future.
I was disappointed to have had to rearrange a theatre readthrough that I had previously scheduled, to be able to attend the GTG, which was no small effort, and then nobody showed up other than myself and SMC. I understand about schedules. I did not get to go to Richard's GTG in Morristown because of a non-profit fundraising commitment. Everyone has things going on. Either we can do these GTG's with advance notice, or we cannot. I think I was most disappointed for Jeff, who did all the work to schedule this GTG at his church, and promote it, and then it was mostly just the two of us and then SMC.
Obviously, GTGs cannot always be 20-30 people. But 2 or 3? That does require the people like Richard and Jeff who do the work to set these up to ask, is this something that we need to keep doing if people don't show up? I think a get-together implies a few more attendees than 2 or 3.
I was not the person who did the work for this GTG- it was Jeff. He's not going to say, I probably don't need to keep doing this if people don't want to come. I am okay asking that question. I was there.
I don't want ETTB people to feel like they are at fault at all. If you can't get to these things, you can't. But the people who are organizing them, need people to come out. If this 2-3-6 people thing keeps happening, then maybe the GTG's aren't what we need to be trying to do. We can just keep talking here on Talkbass in this forum, and we do have a LOT of things to discuss. There's a lot of merit to this continuing forum online, if not so much in person.
I'm very mellow about it, I am not wanting any particular person to feel bad for not coming this last time. I just want us to all continue to be in touch, and share what we are doing. That is the whole purpose of ETTB.
I definitely appreciate both Jeff and Richard for doing the work on the GTG's. I hope we can have more participation for future ones, if they decide to do more of them.

That's why I didn't wanna jinx myself by saying I'd attend. I work nights every Sunday (10p-6:30a) and have to nap at some point in the evening prior to going in... otherwise I start my work week off tired and it only gets worse since I never get more than 5-6 hrs sleep per day during the week. Once the wife sprung the birthday party on me, I knew I'd never make the GTG. And the wife comes first. Sorry Jeff.
Guys, it really is no big deal. I appreciate the guys who came, we got to spend time one on one and a young feller at church who is an aspiring bassist got to attend, so he was excited.
It wasn't much effort on my part, and I hope we can do another one and get everyone together, maybe next year.

Hey, since a GTG is pretty difficult for many of us to get to... maybe going to lunch on a Saturday would be fun? And I definitely wanna try to get to more shows when I can and help support everyone's bands.

If GTGs are not what everyone is wanting to do, let's not plan more GTGs in 2013. Personally, I'd come out, because I want to meet you guys and see what you're playing, but if it's isn't happening this year, then let's wait. If any of you guys actually want to do another GTG, then speak up.

My band Radio Rehab will be at Macadoo's Chat and Chew on July 6th here in Knoxville off Middlebrook near Cedar Bluff. We should be back at Lincoln's in Oak Ridge later in July as well.
Dunno if any of you folks on here from Knoxville remember the 1993-2005 tenure of Bad Weather Blues, but we're playing a 1 night only reunion gig at Preservation Pub on Monday 7/1 - I think there are 8 former members that are going to show and we're going to jam blues and soul classics all night long ...

Renegade (former guitarist in Soul Driver) will be at Cancun's in Maryville Saturday night.

Thanks guys. I'm actually playing in two bands already (one's a surf rock band and the other is a fuzzed out stoner rock trio) so I'll be amongst you guys within the next few months I'm sure
The surf band has yet to be named. The other band is probably going with the name Mass Driver
