I had a pleasant surprise this weekend because we did a song that I thought would really sound good on double bass. I was really able to get that vibe by favoring the bridge with the tone turned down, preamp engaged, and the amp set flat. It sounded thick, yet clear.

The TC Electronic amp belongs to the church. It was after I suggested it.

nice, @Dr. Cheese,... is that the Sadowsky pre from the classifieds?

Actually, somebody offered it to me before posting it. It works like a charm. I feel I'm back to where I was in 2009 when I had an American Standard V, a MarkBass, and a Sadowsky preamp. It feels great to have exactly the sound I that I wanted. In fact, I am even better because I have my Peavey Forums for that Ken Smith sort of vibe too.

Here's a little action shot. We played 4 songs per service, and I played 7 services over the course of the weekend. I used my Sire v7 5 through an Avalon pre to the house. We use Avioms for the IEM's and I also play through an Ampeg SVT Pro 7 into an Eden 410XLT cab. It's not cranked but enough to move a little air on stage. Cool little trivia fact for @Dr. Cheese and anyone else who may care but my buddy next to me on the guitar MDing is Israel Houghtons 1st call guitar player. So if anyone has heard Israel and New Breed 'Alive In Asia' he's on there. We did a 'less complex' version of an Israel song this weekend but did manage to sneak some cool runs in there. I'm constantly joking with him how painful it must be for him to work with me after spending time with Justin Raines rocking the bass!! :D
He's a cool dude and we had a fun weekend.

Looking good Doc. Do you have the pre engaged at all times? Just curious.

Don't know about a mini-concert but here was our set list for today: I Stand Amazed, He Lives, Because He Lives, He's Alive (D. Parton), video > Old Rugged Cross, Rise Again, I Will Rise, Worthy Is The Lamb, video > Redeemer, He's Alive (end of set). About 40 minutes with video. We were all worn out but the BL catered a big breakfast and put cinnimon rolls out after the service. Plus coffee!!!!
