This was my Easter Morning setup and was actually the first time I've played it live. The mesa D-800 through these TC abs and the Benavente SCB5 was amazing. Several compliments on my tone afterwards.

I have a Jazz V that I keep around telling myself that it's great for worship, yet I find every excuse not to use it. Though this weekend was probably for the best, since it was a 1.5 hour practice followed immediately by a 2.5 hour vigil with 14 songs. (I'm the Saturday evening guy.) so the extra poundage of the Jazz V would have sucked over the 4 hours.

I chose my bass of the day based on the surrounding worship situation. If I'm the lone bass player, I usually chose a 4 string Fender Jazz if a soprano is leading or a 5 string Devon Jazz if our worship pastor is leading. On orchestra weekends (like yesterday), since Im competing for sound space with 3 cello players and an acoustic upright bass player, I chose a bass with more of a midrange presence, like my Devon DJ5 with Alder body, Quilted Maple top, Wenge neck and Ebony fingerboard. Its loaded with Bartolini Classic soapbars and Aguilar 3 band preamp. The back end runs by an old grey face, EBS Uni-Chorus into a Sadowsky Bass DI Preamp, which I use to punch up passages on the 5 strings (stays on with 4 string basses with no additional preamps) and into a Radial Stage Direct active DI.
I don't go to church, but I DID hitch a ride with my parents to the Easter festivities at my uncle's house (it's a long haul for me), and played my new Ibby 6er in the backseat the whole way there and back. 
Just saw this one shipped recently on Rob's FB page, it's a beauty. How's it play/sound? (I'm expecting my custom K634 any day now, can't wait!)
I ordered it with the low action, and I play kinda hard on my Fender Jazz, I guess because I needed to. The K534 is effortless in comparison. The sound is incredible, it cuts, it is deep and rich, but it has some wicked mid-range bite. It is like a marriage of a jazz and a warwick thumb. I am so happy with it.
Wow, you could not have described my dream sound more perfectly. So glad to hear that!! How long did you end up waiting for yours? I ordered around mid November, and was hoping for March delivery but that's looking pretty unlikely at this point.
I ordered mine Nov 9, and I got it Friday.. It was worth the wait.. I did expedite the shipping though so I could have it for our Easter Service.

We had services Friday night and Sunday...
Friday night: 55-60 fretless
Sunday: Skyline 55-64 for half of the service (in the balcony) and the other half was my 55-60CS (Chisonic J bass)...
As always - basses sounded GREAT! I made a few too many wrong notes Friday night (not the fretless' fault!)....no one seemeed to notice...but I did

We do that many most Sundays....
this Easter had 8 for communion alone....only got through five of them though ....quit just before the "best" song of the communion set (I will Rise - Chris Tomlin...we really rock the bridge). I was disappointing we did not get to it....but communion was over so we kind of "had to stop"... to the disappointment of the band.

I use that amp as my sound source because my church is quite small, and the PA operation is not optimal.
Nice! I miss playing at church. Last church we were at my wife was the worship leader & I originally played bass until keyboard player quit, then I mainly played keys. It was a Roland RD 700, it was sweet. We have since relocated & the local churches we visited & liked are several deep in bass players. Plus, the praise teams are generally young & I am not exactly that !
Don't be shy because of age. I have been AARP eligible for a while.
Nice....mine actually works a bit of double duty...our PA system is old and there are many issues...in some cases the bass was barely there (in the recordings/livestream) and other times it was too boomy (yes - even to me)...also - we were having some issues with a good "pit mix" for the bass....
...this helps fill the house a bit and allows the sound guy to bring the bass in better in the recordings/livestream.
...and helps me hear myself better in the pit.
ditto...actually our band is a nice mix of seasoned and youngsters...
