Easy songs for kids/toddlers?

The Wiggles stuff is all guitar and usually 3 chords and the kids eat it up. Ask your friend if his son watches that show because if so you can get everything you need from youtube
I was surprised to learn that show has been around almost 20 years. I have a 5yo son and an 18 mon. daughter so I've just seen it the last 4 years.
My nephew loves when I play "When I'm 64" by the beatles. It's pretty easy to learn (I learned it from a stuffed bear that sings when you press it's hand.) Be prepared if the kids mobile for tiny hands wanting to strum chords though. I find they love it if you just play chords and show them how to strum softly because "they're" making the music. Good luck, 2 year olds make a fun audience.

Yeah, the attention of a 2 year old isn't gonna be much. Heck, the attention span of his dad isn't going to be much longer...
I doubt lyrics are too important either. I might just strum some chords, make up some stuff on the spot, maybe hum and sing nonsense, try and make the kid laugh.
I'm not too worried about it anymore actually. I'm imagining the kid will be tired of watching me play guitar and want to go play with his toys or watch his cartoons after about 10 minutes, tops.

This gig is for the parents, not the kid. As long as you play some pretty songs and most of all pay attention to the kid, and try to get him interested in what you are doing. A 2 year old kid had the attention span of stoned woodpecker
Just make the parents happy and you'll be fine. If you ask what the kid likes, you probably won't even need to play the whole song. Sing along songs are good for kids of that age too.

besides, i thnk "Pea" by Red Hot Chili Peppers is a much better fit. 
i'd pick one song that The Boss might like and play that in between the stuff for the kid.
My experience with toddlers has been that their attention span is short... right up until it isn't. And that generally comes at a time when they are playing something like "jump-on-daddy's-testicles". Then they can go on ALL DAY LONG.
And you don't want to be left holding the bag -- so to speak -- at that time!

Ha, so, change of plans.
I guess the little guy goes to bed at like 7pm, which is what time I'd be getting out to my boss' house anyways to "rock" and he doesn't want him all riled up before bed time.
He's going to have his kid up at our office next week, so we can go down to the studio that is in the basement of my building where my buddy has drums, keyboards, bass, guitar, PA; all the good stuff and do some demos and mess around for the kid down there.
Kinda gets me off the hook, but also, I won't have that nice sit down dinner w/ beers to discuss my salary. Guess I'll have to ask for a raise the "old fashion way"
