While that is a squier, it's not the $150 bronco that everyone is mistaking them for. It's about a decade old and it's a vista series musicmaster. Pretty solid basses by all accounts. I'd certainly have no problem paying 250 for it.

So it seems that the seller believes that "some wear" and "some damage" are indentical phrases, resulting in the description "in good condition."

:scowl: Mind-boggling, absolutely unquestionably mind-defying stuff. DAMAGE, to even the least obsessive-compulsive potential-buyer (clearly among those derided by the advertiser), is a scary term, and rightly so.

But at least there's a picture of the "damaged" area. That's fair. Replacement parts that are not mentioned in the ad?! That's extremely unfair.

Our lovely advertiser is trying to garner pity by cranking out sobs concerning cruel, undeserved bad ratings and maybe pulling out of the whole e-bay world altogether. Another motive would seem to be to create a sense of ugency in the ad-reader, riddled with thoughts like, "Oh boy, this seller's the real deal--selling 'alot' of his/her guitars...but I'd better hurry, because s/he's not gonna be here for long."

Methinks s/he protesteth too much.

One of the ones I liked was the Squier 5 string which had "been converted to a four string"...when really, what the seller meant was "headstock snapped at G string tuner so forced conversion to 4 string".

The ones that make me go "oh, for goodness sake" are the "19**s Fender Jazz Bass neck/body for sale, please see my other auctions", and the other auctions are for the remaining parts of the bass!! People like that should be struck by lightning. Immediately.

You have to complete the puzzle to get the whole bass

Selling in parts are a good way to make more money though. I've even recently seen a cheapo bass on TB classifieds which is for sale in parts (in accessories) and as you guess the brand new one from GC cost less than that parted out used bass But it's an open economy and people may want to pay $200.00 for a bass body where a complete one is sold for $300.00 new

I also like the e-bay ads stating "the neck is broken near the headstock, other than this, everything works fine"
