It's an original 76 neck on an original 72 body.

I don't understand why you would bother to send the seller an email critical of his pricing in the first place. Especially given all the red flags the ad in and of itself raises as to the validity item being sold.

There are alot of poor quality and misrepresented items for sale on every online auction.

When was the last time you spent $400 let alone $4000 on an online auction with a photo and description like that?

For the most part people get what they deserve. And if he sells it, more power to him.

About a year ago I put a Fender Mexican Strat up on the bay, it was nice and clean but still used. Nothing out of the ordinary or special about it. Started the bidding at $1, the guy that bought it ended up paying $425 for it. He ended up being about 25 miles away from me so I met him half way and he paid cash. I then immediately drove 10 minutes to a major music retailer and bought a brand new American Strat for $475. There were brand new Mexican Strats hanging on the wall for at least $100 less than the guy paid for mine. Go figure.

I'll tell you why. I have done business on ebay for several years and have good feedback. People like this obviously aren't very honest and every dishonest seller hurts the service a little for the honest ones.

I don't know, I think this rates as Exc+++++++++++++++ condition IMO...

That repair is barely noticeable
(in this very out of focus image)

and look, even tho they replaced the tuners, you can still clearly see the out line of the old ones...
(and hey, that repair to the headstock is even less noticeable in this blurry photo. The secret to selling <$100K stuff on ebay is bad photos!!!)
