EBMM HS 'Ray...perhaps?

well, I've convinced my parents to at least think about getting me a bass this birthday/xmas (it's the only thing I want) and I've decided on an EBMM HS stingray. I'm good at convincing my parents that getting me stuff for bass is a good idea, and because I'm still in HS, I want to get everything I need/want now, so I don't have spend what little money I'll have in college on gear.

Because I've always like LPB, and tort combination, I've decided to go with something similar with the Ray. This is because I think it fits me better than the other colors, and it's different, I've never seen a stingray in this combo. However, because EB doesn't have LPB, I'm gonna go with pearl blue, and tort. This still looks awesome to me so I'm stoked. The bad thing about it though, is that I won't be getting it til Decemeber, which will suck incredibly but I know it'll be worth it, so I'm gonna have to order is ASAP.

well, there she is so you guys can see what it will look like, just add a single on there. I got quoted 1300 for the bass with the matching headstock, which I think is a really good deal, so I just have to wait for my parents on this one.

Comments? Concerns? Carrots? (lol, the 3 c's of TB)

She looks nice! She will be worthy of the wait. FWIW, I'm a maple board kinda guy also so I can definitely feel Steve's suggestion.

Of course, if you visualize this special bass with a RW board then that's what you should order.

BTW, the lead time for a special order EBMM is about 4 months. You might want to place your order soon for a Christmas delivery. There a few dealers who hang out at the EBMM forum.

hmm, because the HH comes at no extra cost, I might go with that because it's more versatile. Bass central also happens to have a pearl blue HH ray in stock, but it has a maple board, but that's something I can live with if I can get it in november.

Personally I'd go with the SR 5, very comfortable neck and the sound fits in with almost anything you can play. I have an OLP SR 5 at the moment but i've been saving up for a SR5 since i'm joining a new band and i want the active electronics just to get a better punch into our sound. But definately look for a used one, best place to look is Bass Central ( www.basscentral.com ) they have the biggest selection of musicman's Brand New and Used. plus i like advertising for gard since gard is one rockin guy.

Bass Central is also known for not updating their website. Better check with them.

The reason I'm not going with the SR5, is plainly because I don't like 5 strings. I'm mostly a 6 banger, and if I pick up a 5, I feel that something is missing. Plus, I like 4's for slapping, and there's more room in between the strings for stuff.

I'll be checking out the for sale forum here to see if anything pops up.

True, so true, although it's been a while since he worked at Bass Central.

(I am sad to report.)

whattttttt these things always happen when i'm lose touch with people. but either way Gard is one rockin guy. but also look into the bass palace in PA, however their site is down at the moment. also check out this place also in PA called Guitar Villa, http://www.guitar-villa.com/bass.asp they usually have some used musicmans. sometimes as shameful as it sounds go to Guitar Center and look at their Used section and you can occasionally find a used musicman. I went to the Guitar Center in Totowa a few months back and found a Stingray used for 800, played it and sounded great however i didn't have the kind of money for it at the time:crying:

I couldn't find the bass palace's site, and I did look at the guitar-villa one. I think I'm gonna stick to either Jack or the guys over at BC (If they ever e-mail me back..)

Can't wait about this one, this is something I've wanted ever since I started playing.
