EBMM Randy Jackson Custom Bass

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by blendermassacre, May 25, 2011.

  1. I guess EBMM will make you a custom bass, if you're Randy Jackson. This thing does look pretty sweet. Makes me wonder what a EBMM custom shop would turn out...

Lord, I don't hope they go down the whole "Signature" route like Fender...

They've done a few signature models in the past...though only guitars I think!

EBMM has always made special color basses for high profile artists. Nothing new about this. And they made a poka-dot StingRay for Randy way back in the 80's, among other things over the years.

No Harry, they don't do signature basses for anybody.

  10. from the sound of their facebook post, it's a one off for Randy, not a signature model

Consider for a moment that the Bongo 6 is basically a John Myung model. It's cool, IMO, to see them treat high profile artists well. I don't anticipate them making a Randy Jackson model, but, who knows, maybe this color combination will be offered down the line.

Thats a relief, signature models are just annoying imo.

+1 If any bass player ever got one it would have to be Tony Levin, though.

But even Tony said all it would be is a stock StingRay.

Let's not forget these one off gems that were made for Randy.

Not likely. We were lucky to get Tangerine Pearl and Sky Blue added to the color options at Winter NAMM (not to be confused with the one off Lamborghini Orange and Powder Blue above).

I guess that I can't blame EBMM for making a "one off" for a guy who's going to play it in front of 100,000,000 some eyes. But it is kind of crappy for us "nobodies". Love their products, though, and that one looks sweet.
