I think it's perfectly fine. Limiting the options helps keep the price down for us "nobodies" and helps keep EBMM from going bankrupt.

Not likely. We were lucky to get Tangerine Pearl and Sky Blue added to the color options at Winter NAMM (not to be confused with the one off Lamborghini Orange and Powder Blue above).

but i don't like the offset pole pieces at the neck pickup.

..at least make a smaller pickup for the middle/neck position.. thats a $3k plus bass!

I guess that I can't blame EBMM for making a "one off" for a guy who's going to play it in front of 100,000,000 some eyes. But it is kind of crappy for us "nobodies". Love their products, though, and that one looks sweet.

If every "nobody" could get one, then what good would being a "somebody" be?

I can't tell if those are his sig model Alchemy strings on it but anyway I really liked those strings. They felt great, sounded great, nice & bouncy, however, the E broke after a few weeks of normal use--not slapping or aggressive playing. Equally unfortunate, they're bright yellow (not gold but yellow). Fugly.

Nothing really. It's not necessary to have Master Built EBMM instruments. That's only for brands whose regular line is so-so in quality.

It is nice to get some other options that aren't available though like custom colors and fancy woods, but I agree I've owned regular EBMM and the anniversary models and quality was no different from one to the other. One was nicer looking to me (thats subjective though), but action, quality of hardware, etc... TOP NOTCH
