EBMM reflex & 25th Anniversary Club

I think there are a good number of people who are interested in the Reflex.
I think the new retail of them hovering around $2,000 might prohibit many from jumping on them.
Even used they run $1600 - $1,700 or so.
I know I have had several guys PM me asking if I was ready to roll mine yet. hahaha!!
I guess I am getting a rep for letting go of my basses quickly due to on going G.A.S? :eyebrow: lol :)

Well, I'm really sorry to hear about orange bases as a non wanted, ...if that orange was available when I was ordering mine, I'd play orange RX today!

Anyway, I still believe that reflex time will come, sooner or later! :smug:

Since I presented mine on some domestic forums, people was amazed, ...many of them would like to have one, but unfortunately there are none on the stock to try one and it's a bad recession here in my region, ...people mostly buy a second hand bases right now for miserable prices!

Only Musicman basses are best sellers as 2nd hand here! :)

One more problem, ...most of experienced musicians here still think that only Stingray is a Musicman, ...that's because they never tried a Bongo, reflex or Big Al unfortunately!

Everyone who tried my EBMM RX was amazed so far, jaw dropped! :D
I have just one gig today before a winter Holly-days, so I'll try to record an amateur demo video clip soon and share it over the YouTube service, ...You know guys, my last Sterling 5 HS video made people crazy around the world for that bass model, ...I still don't know why :eyebrow:, ...it was pretty amateur, but bass tone was great, ...people could recognize a good stuff, even when used from semi-pro bass player like me!

Cheers,

Keko

"like whitewalls on a Prius."
hahahaha!! too funny.
Or worse like raised white letters on a Prius??? LMAO

I would take a guess that they might have used them to eliminate neck diving???
Having a smaller body, they might have found the big traditional MM tuners to be to un balanced and neck heavy?

Just a guess.

At first, I was thrown off by them visually.
But not any longer...I honestly could not see the other tuners on this bass.
For that matter, I saw a thread on the EBMM forum where they placed some new Y tuner on the bongo and it looked killer.
Would think they would work well on the Big Al body style too.

I remember reading somewhere that there was a reason for switching to the Y-shaped tuners on these, but I think they go with the Music Man aesthetic like whitewalls on a Prius. Looks ridiculous. Which is too bad, because otherwise these are very pretty axes.

OK, ...hurry up if You wanna be a "James Bond" member (007)! :p

You know, NPNB (No Pics No Bass) ;)

Fine. Be that way. ;)

While we waiting for a new Club members, let me entertain You guys with my three video clips.

It's kinda show off of my bass, ...first one is short preview when bass was bought, second is short slap tone preview and 3rd is large 5 minutes demo of all tone options in passive mode, ...some demo playing in the middle and some 4 band EQ active tweaking at the end, ...enjoy:

I must add that I'm just an amateur semi-pro weekend hobby bass player and free fan boy EBMM endorser, so don't expect professional recording and playing in these videos! :smug:

I just ordered a white/maple Reflex 5 HSS earlier today! :hyper:
Express shipping so I'll get it before next weekend.
I've been gasing for a MM for 10 years now and I was supposed to finally buy a Stingray when some extra money fell into my lap, so I decided to go for the deluxe package. :p

Pictures will be up 5 minutes after opening the box. Can I reserve #13? :)

Congrats mate, ...can't wait for those pics! :)

Talkin' 'bout #13, ...well, I'm afraid You're gonna wait too long, but if You decide that way, it's OK to me! :smug:

Oooooo, this is exciting! Personally, I can hardly wait!

:ninja:

Ha, ha...Jackie, ...I think You know exactly what I was talkin' 'bout, ...don't You?

Got the bass earlier today. :hyper:
I took a quick cell phone picture of it just after opening the box. I'll get the missus to snap some better pictures soon, as she is a photographer and I can barely snap a decent one with my phone. :p

It's been on my lap for several hours today and so far I'm loving it! The setup was almost perfect right out of the box and it was in tune (not bad considering it was shipped from the US to Norway). I had to adjust the action slightly, but that's just because I like my strings almost on the frets, and I don't mind a bit of fret buzz.
The neck is straight as an arrow and it now plays beautifully.

I took a quick test run with headphones and I'm amazed by the versatility of the preamp and pickups. My band recently recorded a new EP, but now I have to go back to the studio to redo all my bass tracks with this monster! And I can't wait to head back with another band in a month! :D

Now I just need to find the time to fire up the amp and shake the pictures of the wall...

Manndreas,

phantastic, ...congrats! :bassist:

I never tried HSS, but I bet that neodymium Singles are doing it just fine with ceramic Humbacker!

What about the Club number now?

Do You wanna #8 in order, or You'll just wait for #13?
I don't know is it custom here to give unorder numbers?

Cheers,
Keko

Thanks!

Yeah, the HSS config kicks ass. So far my favourite is the humbucker + middle single. Just the right amount of fat and grind. But we'll see how it sounds when I fire up the amp.
I had a lot of fun yesterday by turning the passive tone down and boosting the treble and low-mid so I could go between thump and grind instantly at the press of a button. :D
I also liked the sound in my headphones with only the two singles on in passive fingerstyle, but I suspect it could be somewhat muddy through an amp at high volume.

I'm not sure about how the numbering works in these clubs, as this is the first one I've bothered to sign up for. I just thought I'd ask for #13 since I'm born on that date. :p

BTW: Does anyone know what the center frequencies for the eq is?
