EBMM Stingray Classic - who doesn't like em?

I think it's due to the fact that the A and D poles are raised so much higher than the G's and the G string has substantially less mass than the other strings.

I've heard of people taking the pickup out and pushing the pole piece of the G string out. Sounds like a quick fix but I just haven't gotten around to that yet.

I really want to combine a classic neck with my modern body and electronics. I prefer hard finishes on the neck, but I want the 3-band EQ and some classics I picked up were very heavy. I think the mid control is important because without it you are stuck in the low-mids driven Stingray sound - especially if you have a classic which doesn't come with 2 pickups.

It's too expensive to follow through with that plan of course.

I am not too concerned about the stability of the figured maple since MM necks are loaded up with heavy truss rods and additional rods anyway. Can as well put that to good use.

I've owned 25 Musicmans, and worked and gigged with many more of them, and I've never had an issue. I always take a couple different basses with me and the G on my Rays always sounded just as loud as the G on my Jazz or Wal.
I have no idea why folks have issue, I'm still thinking its the way folks eq their amp.

You owned a Classic? I own one and it's completely understandable by the G is weaker. Thinnest string and its pole piece lower than those of the thicker strings. I don't scoop my EQ by any means. If anything, I'm mid heavy. The G is still noticeable weaker.
