The reason I asked about the selector switch on the 4 H is that every time I google them, I don't see the selector switch in the pics (am I missing something? Are they using other basses in the photos?):

The 4H has the least amount of tonal options built in. But that works for some people. Lots of folks like them. Me? I’d rather have that plus the other stuff but YMMV

Ah, no problem, man. I knew that the 5H has it too, but wasn't sure about the 4H. Really glad I decided on an HH now!

Yeah, it is interesting though... the 5 has a three way but the 4 doesn't. My 2002 Sterling has a three way selector and it gives lots more options. I'm like you on the Special.... want.... more..... more, more, more!

Edit: Come to think of it, I guess Stingray 5s have the selector and the 4s don't, so I guess that is in line with tradition....

If you move slowly from position 1 or 3 to the middle position, just before it clicks in to position 2 there is another "tonal option" there. Not sure what exactly it's doing, but it sounds good.

He's a skilled player and gets stuff done. I respect the guy and believe his vids are a good resource for a lot of young (and older) players.

This Guy talks a lot of sense!. A proper Stingray is one humbucker only.

I’m joining @lowdownthump and @Stranger Danger with one from Mike Quick. This is honey acrylic. Very nice quality and great fit.

Couldn’t resist getting a California poppy in there as well.

I suspect the strings on that H bass are far, far more broken in than the ones on the HH.

Yeah. Sterling by Music Man basses are nice and all, but they are not Ernie Ball Music Mans. It’s a bit like using Squier basses as the basis to evaluate MIA Fenders.

I've had a ton of stingrays and HH stingrays. The bridge pick up sounds exactly the same on them. Exactly. Because.....its the exact same pickup in the exact same place thru the exact same preamp. That guy over and over again claims they're different and that the H was Leo's design and the HH is ernie balls. Uh... both are ernie ball versions at this point.
