Yep, for me as well, took it back to GC.
What I was told was that the jack insert came as a complete unit being a barrel jack. Didn’t seem right to me - I thought it would be simple as you describe - but back it went and part ordered. I’m happy to be told otherwise!
Being south of Melbourne in southern Australia, a simple call to EBMM is not so simple.....
Interesting. I wouldn’t think EBMM would use different jacks here and there, but it’s not outside the realm of possibility. All three of my SR5s (Special, 30th Anniversary, and an ‘88) use the exact same type of enclosed jack (see images from my SR5 Special), but you can certainly get in there and they’re definitely not barrel jacks.
Either way, I hope you get it worked out sooner rather than later
My thoughts, as well. Now, Bongos, they use the barrel jack — no mount plate.
Looks like a common jack that Switchcraft makes. Most repair shops should carry.
You can add me to the Stingray Special Club. Picked this up from a fellow TB'r for a really good price.
Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray Input Jack Discovery?
That's sweet, @Knavery!
First post on the forum! I broke down and got one, but went big with BFR '19 model. Don't regret it one bit.
That’s is gorgeous!! love the look of the block inlays and the bound neck. How does it feel?
Cool! That’s 1 of just 81. BOL with the BFR!
Well now. Isn't this something effin' great. Can't put it down. Lightweight, responsive and overall just one good looking SOB. Okay. Now the other SR5s can go.
Ain't that the truth! My other two SR5s have been completely neglected play-wise since getting the 5H Special. And now, I have a 5HH Special inbound.
Is that a rosewood FB? Congrats
I initially wanted rosewood but was reminded that these came with ebony. Oh! Yeah, so it's ebony.
What a killer setup! Beautiful.
Congrats to you and @Knavery and @bovinehost on the Specials!
Now you can update your giant EBMM photo grid
yeah, the pearl inlays sold me. it feels awesome. I swear the roasted maple neck feels smoother than my old stingray.
