I konw all you Music Man fanatics don't like modes, but Here it is!
This is a (very) short viddeo of a mod I did in my Music Man Stingray Special 5 HH.
I added a small swich that turns on / off the 4th coil. This gives you an extra 3 more sounds.
I recomend using headphones.

Flats are installed and ready to rock. I needed to adjust both the truss rod and bridge saddles. I'll report back tomorrow.

Bernard's genius is undeniable, but I can't say his is a tone I've personally been shooting for - albeit perfect in that context.

Literally hours before his death.

It's a rock solid 2 hour performance, and it's kind of heartbreaking when he apologises for suffering from a touch of "Tokyo Flu".

I'm gonna check the setup later and set intonation properly, because I decided to leave them on my Ray for a while. As you can imagine, I'm really loving the results of this experiment. But hey, it's honeymoon phase and I still need to record some clips and let you guys decide.

If you already have a set, try them. They're not so different from the 9050Ls I'm using.

"Everybody Dance" wasn't recorded with a 'Ray. It was a P-Bass. He didn't record with the 'Ray until the subsequent LP (C'est Chic) which was released in '78. The video shown was done after the single was recorded/released.

Additionally, Bernard never changed the factory strings on his 'Ray. He was asked once in an interview 5-6 years after acquiring his bass about his string choice and he responded..."Idunno. Whatever strings they put on when they made it!"
