Well, there is usually ways around those limitation, I could get it to Japan but it would clearly add some ¥¥¥ , maybe one days if it pops up used

What's your solution for getting it to Japan? I'd be interested in seeing if it's something that would be viable to get one into Canada.
Do you not know anyone in the US that can buy for you and ship? I’m thinking of going that route as I want a lefty, and it doesn’t look like EBMM are going to open up the Vault.
I must say that I find it pretty disappointing that they won’t sell worldwide; plenty of other vendors do.
No, unfortunately I don't. I too was disappointed they have no option to ship to Canada. I asked if they could ship it to a Long & Mcquade since they are EBMM dealers here in Canada but they said no.
You may want to check CITES regulations before moving a new instrument containing rosewood across international borders.
Musical instruments are now exempted from the rosewood bans.
Yeah. I read that. I thought I just meant instruments manufactured before the CITES law went into effect. Am I misunderstanding the new rules?
That bass is roasted maple neck & fingerboard so I don't think there would be any issues anyways since it doesn't use rosewood.
Yeah, before / after the rule change doesn't matter. They aren't blocking instruments made with rosewood any longer. By now that memo should have filtered down to the lowest levels, so rosewood concerns should no longer be an issue unless you go somewhere and the customs agents want to be a d--k. But then they can claim your roasted maple neck is an exotic wood if they want to do that.
Yes, I really liked color and the black hardware when I saw it online so fortunately my local shop had 1 in stock when I bought it.
I have an HD HH 5 I’ll be putting up for sale soon. I just don’t play it.
6 months in with my Stingray 5 Special HH. This is by no means the easiest playing SR5 I’ve played. Came from Sweetwater with high action. After some adjustments here and there I have it dialed in pretty nicely. 9lbs, love the weight. Perfect for me. The G string will slip off the board if one isn’t careful. tried all manor of DR’s, D’Adarios and Rotosound.. It plays and sounds best with EB Regular Slinkies to my ears. B string is killer. No really, for any scale, but especially a 34 it is just great. I’m probably not as interested in coaxing different tones out of the 5 toggle positions and infinite eq possibilities, but I cannot find a bad sound. All in all it is an excellent bass. The color kills on stage. Thanks for reading.

I’ve considered buying one of these, but I have hesitated because I really like the sound of my ash-bodied 2001 EBMM StingRay 5H but the Specials I have tried sound substantially different—not any “less good,” just different—than what I feel I need.
Are others perceiving a major difference in sound with these because of the lighter bodies, revisions to the electronics, lighter hardware, the roasted maple necks, etc.? I know the major aim of the redesign was to reduce the overall weight and in that EBMM has certainly succeeded.
The addition of stainless steel frets and the more rounded heel are nice touches, too.

I firmly believe that most of the difference in the sound is due to the new pickup and electronics. Also also firmly believe that these electronics respond very well to eq. I've been able to get a huge number of truly epic sounds with some diligent eq work.
