My 4H Special with roasted maple neck needed 3 adjustments during this year, but none was significant. The bass was always perfectly playable, so I must say that the bass tends to kept setups well.
Everytime I buy a new instrument and/or need to do a setup on one of them, I usually measure string action on all of my instruments do a quick setup, that's why I can see minor changes in neck relief and action.

That was my expectation as well. But with every weather change, I need to do significant truss rod work.

Weird. Where I live we experience 4 drastically different seasons and I barely have to touch my truss rod, if ever.

Adjusting neck relief during the year is pretty normal, don't worry about that.

Just want to add that I have two StingRay Specials, and the necks on mine have been very stable.

I don’t think a 360° turn every season is normal..

I have decided to keep it, will bring it to the shop and put my trust in EBMM high quality, so far it's confirming that my prefered set up is bridge pick up alone so no regret taking the 5 with a single H

I find the EQ needs adjusting for each pickup position, and the great thing about this new EQ is that it still sounds great when at the extreme ends of its width. ....but you may already know that

Well, I'm back in the club with a charcoal sparkle 5HH. One thing I didn't realize earlier was that the battery box is picky about the batteries it likes. If the posts are not tall enough, they don't connect at all. So, if you think you have backup batteries in your case/gig bag. Make sure your backup batteries work. Duracell seems to be the choice.

All woods are different - even if they’re the same species. Some necks might take a little more adjusting than others. That’s why many people choose Ernie Ball basses. They are some of the easiest to adjust.

I don’t think a 360° turn every season is normal..

As long as the truss rod works properly and the bass is playable, it's all good imho. Without seeing the bass in person I can't tell that much.

That’s the case on my 2011 Ray 5 too... found that out the hard way when I first gigged it, sadly!

I have noticed that every Ray I've owned has needed a bit more attention for the setup. I've gotten used to giving it a once-over every week or so.

The recent posts are a surprise to me. I've never had to adjust anything on my 4H Special. If humidity changes, I might have to tweak the tuning on a couple strings a tiny bit, but otherwise, never an adjustment of any kind.

Agreed, I really wanted the 4 string version but they don't sell the vault instruments to Canada unfortunately.

Got this beauty back in March, hands down it's the best bass I've ever owned and it sure does lifts my spirits every time I pick it up =)
