Well, with a HH Special and Old Smoothie already in the stable... just that the vault gear could be shipped to the UK - I’d have bought one or two and feel I missed out... but i get over pretty quick after a play on mine - so genuinely thank you Scott

Isn't the vault gear available internationally now? I thought they updated that months ago to allow international shipping.

Basses are not guitars. EB has a great selections of basses. They keep it simple. They have what they have and they make what they have outstanding. that is what makes them unique and cool. Would you prefer EB act like Fender and put out a 31st anniversary edition? When you make that many different special editions they are no longer special. They are just saturation. And then they are ordinary. And thats not cool

The occasional BFR is great. The once in awhile passive is great. The 50 Joe Dart models are special. Maybe have a custom shop or something. But please for all that is holy DO NOT TURN INTO FENDER and release a special edition every week....Hey folks today we are celebrating MM being around since 72 and putting out our 49th anniversary model. Next year we will celebrate when Ernie Ball bought the company with our 38th Anniversary model.....

This is essentially what you are asking Scott Ball to do by asking him to cater to every whim each random person has. When all it does is takes something unique and makes it uncool. Lucky for us EBMM has been doing it right for 40 years and we can expect that to continue so they dont turn into a mass production machine that spews out a new version of the same old same old with poor quality. Thats Fender. And thats certainly not unique or cool

I'd love to have the option of glossed necks on the specials, similar to the Classic line. I love my Special, but partial to gloss, esp over roasted maple.

Black Stealth Stingray 5 with all the Specials goodness or make the Eclipse Sparkle that was a Sweetwater Exclusive into a generally available model.

An Orange crush sparkle stingray special ,4hh with black pg and flamed roasted maple neck would be killer. Not a slo but std neck.

It would be nice to have the neck pickup closer to the bridge pickup as an option or standard on all 4 HH and 5HH models

What's wrong with asking a question? I actually have 3 Stingrays at this point. A 30th 5er and 2 Specials. I just noticed that the guitar lines tend get all the nice woods, figured necks ect. The bass lines get the solid colors or sparkle finishes. I just thought it'd be nice for EBMM to have a regular upgraded line so we don't have to wait around for the occasional BFR. It could be the Special SPECIAL. JK...
Say maybe 25 or 30 each quarter.
So there ya go.
Just some random dude looking to satisfy his whim. BTW I know a bass is not a guitar.

- a simplified big al SSS electronic package with only the 2 rear pick up, mounted on Stingray body is fine

Other than that I actually like to be surprised, I'd never wished for the Gold Champagne BFR or the Amethyst but they are fire!

Matching flat black pickguard to match the flat black electronics cover. The flat black pickguard to me seems to hold up better from scratches.(I had a custom one made in the past)
Actually edited: make the whole bass flat black!

Passive/Active switch would be killer! Love having that built in safety net and extra versatility.

the Amethyst Sparkle is incredible, best bass I’ve ever owned, but If there was a shell pink 5HH with active/passive I’d pre-order it now.

Ya see, it's kinda nice to ask questions and stir the pot a little. I ask my question not to dilute the EBMM line of basses or make them "uncool". But to start a conversation on what actual bass players would like to see. I wasn't demanding. I don't want to see them release a anniversary model every year or so. I totally want to see them keep up the great QC they're known for. I was just asking about getting some of the nice options our "skinny string" friends and band mates get. That's all!! I don't have some evil plan to take EBMM down the path that Fender had decided to take and hurt their brand.
I have a wonderful Fodera that I absolutely love! But I play and enjoy my Stingrays and actually gig them more than the Fodera! So cutos to Scott for listening, being involved in this conversation and asking for suggestions!!
