EBMM StingRay Special Club

Ooo tell me more about this one
tempImageegtA2W.png tempImageIpPGkb.png tempImagelqn4Su.png tempImager33FHr.png tempImageTQbJHq.png tempImagexXp7a7.png tempImagej2qlbB.png I just received mine a few days ago. It's a StringRay Special. Same as any new one sold today with the 3 band EQ. What makes the price difference is the bound neck, pearl inlays, flame neck and mystic dream paint job. I tried to get the color changing aspects as best i could in the pictures but it's hard to photograph. If you google/youtube search "music man mystic dream" they will show the JP model with the same color and videos show the color change. The bass itself is what you expect from a StingRay, amazing. First time you play it feels like you've had it your whole life.

From my understanding the Vault is where EB directly sells to the customer. They're usually one offs or very limited releases (usually colors/materials). So if you want something a little bit different keep and eye on there because they just seem to pop up.

Gorgeous! Thank you for those pictures! I’m debating between this one and the BFR ruby punch one they have at GC

Thanks. I was looking/considering that Ruby punch one also, it's very nice. GC had a platinum punch(silver) on a few months ago(if not a year ago now) i really liked that one and was kicking myself it didn't pick it up but it worked out for me in the end. I've never held/seen a BFR in person but i'm sure the quality is top notch and you say you have a BFR.

I'm just happy it's a 4-string. I would be bitter if it was a 5er and I couldn't afford it right now.

Wow, that finish with a bound/blocked neck ....

If it were mine I might put a white pearl pickguard to tie in the blocks and binding, but that's just me. It's beautiful as is! ;)

Yeah I'd be all over a 5 version.

I love purple

Verrrrrrrrrry nice! That would fit right into my bursts-only bass collection. :D ;) :D

I know there's the current Burnt Ends and I have the Vintage Tobacco burst from a few years ago. I don't remember there being a three-toned burst in the Special lineup, but I love that one (especially with the tortoise shell pickguard!).

Congrats!

EDIT: Actually, that finish looks a lot like my first Stingray (sold it to buy my current Honeyburst), a lovely Vintage Sunburst with matching headstock. It's a shame that one weighed 11 pounds. I would have kept it if it was under 10.
