EBMM StingRay Special Club

Is this because not many ship to Canada in general or that your dealers don't have any in stock?
Here in the states, we have lots of dealers who used to carry stock daily.
It seems the factory can not keep up with demand or have scaled back on production for financial reasons.
I checked right across Canada for one like this...and I luckily found a used one 'like new'...so I figured instead of it sitting at the border in Customs for a week in the cold, I'd just rip down and back same day...
Fingers crossed its as described...he sent me 30 pics...so as long as he isn't a photoshop master, it should be mint. :)

When I went to Purchase in August 2023 it was Slim Pickens and has been since; 2 Stores in my Area had none

The pastels were available; Fortunate for Me GC had in stock/in box an exclusive in Burnt Apple which was my preferred finish[still my preferred] when I almost bought one in December 2019 [GC Exclusive has matching headstock 2019 didn't]

My Guess since Summer of 2023 low inventory with only some BFR's, Store exclusives and Vault being available and some dealers with past orders dribbling in.

Maybe the New Retro's took precedence.

Maybe some patience for another week or so and see what NAAM brings

BUT from what you have posted recently the Special doesn't seem to inspire you based on Youtube
there are some nice Classic's on sale here[TB] or start tinkering with what you have:)
Yeah I am not a sparkly or pastel fan...I prefer burst or black...I loved the tone of my Special that I had..but it was the sparkly red....I just couldn't handle it. lol..then I went on a boutique craze...grabbed two Wals...and a SkjoldSlayer..etc etc...now going full circle...I have a couple other boutiques I may list in the spring time...judging by the classifieds and kijiji, not much is moving.

Looked at the site today for a reference for providing my Stingray Special for a backline rental (Yes, I will be present for the show. Renting my IEMs and bass rig as well.

Only the Harvest Orange was available. All other colors discontinued.

And dang, if that Harvest Orange came with a maple neck.....Oh my!
Normally I go but I'm still not ready to be around that many people enclosed in that environment yet. sure I'd be masked up and completely vaccinated maybe next year. But NAMM is my Disneyland I truly do miss it.

Whaaaaa? Bro the pandemic was like 4 years ago.
RSV & Covid has spiked recently in metro LA lately no where near pandemic numbers but enough to consider any mass indoor events in which I could bring home any of that mess to my immune compromised daughter. Throw in NAMM is a world wide audience I'll have to pass.

Here's a pic of my new setup. Got the stingray special last month and loving it so far!

Can you not order any stingray through a dealer anymore? I purchased mine in 2006 through Long and Mcquade and was able to choose the colour, preamp, and fingerboard (cherry bursy, 2EQ, maple). it took less than 2 months to arrive, and it came with a hard case.

Where i am in Ontario i ordered mine. The fingerboard is not an option, but that seems to have changed for alot of brands, but i was able to order it off the L&M website out of stock, they reached out saying its out of stock and the order would take 6ish months.. just got it the other week but I was able to put the order in no problem.

I remember back when i got my lakland Joe Osborn skyline I was able to also choose my fingerboard, pickguard and body color for my order. It also came in a really nice hardshell, and that was their "affordable" one, but i guess times have changed since most cases are exclusively for 2k+ guitars and even then, and customization isnt typically a thing unless your going customshop at these places at this point.

i went into the store and they took my specs and sent it to EB, I didn't try buying it online.

Which model do you have? 4H, 4HH, 5H, or 5HH?

EDIT: As an exmaple, here's the 4-string Special page on the MM web site. Scroll down about 2/3 of the way and there are four circles you can click on to get more info about the basses. Click the one labeled Controls. There's a similar diagram for each of the variations of the Specials.
