Yeah man Aqua is also so nice...and I like it better with the black hardware.
Everyone here will tell you that I’m the Queen of bling , but that ocean sparkle and gold was just too much for my eyes. It really pops but the green and gold clash to my eyes. The green is really dark compared to the pics I was sent of my bass. I sent mine back the same day I received it.
But that’s just me.
I have NEVER been a sparkle guy.
But when I saw the Ocean sparkle, I was floored!!
One of my two favorite colors(Turquoise, and Orange being the other)
I wasn't even looking at Sting Rays till one of these came up in the classifieds here.
Then I got a killer deal on Reverb on one.
I've always been a P guy, but that is quickly changing.

Count me in! Finally got one. Fell hard for Charcoal Sparkle first time I saw it. Watched a few used ones online and either was outbid or waited too long to pull the trigger so I missed out on them. Not this time.
Another example of a sparkle finish that looks far better in person than in pictures. Charcoal Sparkle is a beautiful finish!
Exactly. I’ve never seen two pictures online that look the same for most EB non-/sparkle finishes and they all look way better in person. Charcoal isn’t even close to pics.

Since we seem to be discussing sparkle finishes. And some of you will experience the total Eclipse tomorrow. I thought I'd post a pic of my Eclipse Sparkle.

I am increasingly frustrated with the lack of color accuracy in the on-line custom shop builder. The body colors are really off IMO. Gold sparkle looks like butter. Seafoam sparkle looks like keylime green. The gold hardware looks like antiqued bronze. (The color of Zildjian K series cymbals.) Is anyone else experiencing this?
To be frank with you, EBMM in general has been wildly inconsistant from what ive seen in general with its colors over the past several years. Ive seen Raspberry bursts that look predominantly black, others that look more pink with less of a border, a common complaint of mine is the frost green pearl, early ones are all green, anything from the past few years is basically a black border burst despite them even having videos showing them painting it:

Ive seen the same thing for the grape crush already where some look to be dark purple with a lighter purple center, others that looks pretty much primary blue border with a purple center. Or in the case of LadyLoveStingray5, she got the ocean sparkle that ended up looking like a forest green in person, but weve seen others that are much more accurate to a teal color..

Correct. Speed Blue and it is very BLUETIFUL!!!
I am still down to hot honey or purple sunset. I need my Stingray with wood grain. It just depends on which one comes up first with the grain pattern I like. It's SUCH a hard decision!!!
One one hand, the hot honey is much more like a classic, vintage Stingray. That is very attractive to me and you know it will age well and always look awesome. I did a photochop edit with both a black and white pickguard and it looks AMAZING, much better than the tort it comes with and much more classic MM. I am just not crazy about the unfinished roasted maple fretboard - that's my only reservation.
But then, on the purple sunset, I LOVE the rosewood board, white nut and roasted maple headstock look. So incredibly attractive. I also love the purple sunset body (I would add a classic white pg and remove the pearl) but i also wonder how it will age. It's essentially a vintage sunburst stingray but just a different color burst. But I can also see it being like one of those weird, bold new car colors that looks good for 1-2 years then you can't stand it anymore.

No chance I'd argue with you about that decision, even I personally would probably go with the Purple Sunset. That's just beautiful.
And that picture kind of makes me wish my Honeyburst had a maple fretboard rather thsn rosewood, too.

yea the tones on that one above are flawless. they don't all have those perfectly contrasting shades of wood.No chance I'd argue with you about that decision, even I personally would probably go with the Purple Sunset. That's just beautiful.
