EBMM Stingray Special HH additional tones

Looking a little closer at the HS model, it looks like coil 3 on that model is probably in the same spot as coil 3 on the HH. So I guess thats the same as the Laklandish setting. I know on a Lakland the H isn’t exactly where the bridge H is on a Ray.
Regardless, the 3 hidden settings all sound really good. 2 3 4 is a lot like the neck solo with more clarity. The 1 2 3 “HS” setting might be my favorite.

I am really digging 1.5 (or in between 1 and 2) and 4.5
I had a Sterling HS years ago that had some nice in between tones on the 5-way switch. Haven’t noticed it on my Special 4HH but going to try it out tonight.
It does, haven't try it live but so far at home it stays in place
I rewired my switch to give me single coil options. Much more useful IMO.
Interesting, are there any instructions anywhere?
I tried the in betweens on my H and I get single coil bridge side between positions 1 and 2. Not sure exactly whats between 2 and 3. It’s both coils. Seems brighter than series with filter but its not series. Might just be parallel. The single coil bridge side is interesting but these arent nearly as cool as the HH in betweens.
I did the same on my H and I have to agree, the in between tones are there but not very useful, at least not as useful as the HH.

HMMM... I got a Special 5 HH for Christmas, and I haven't thought once about trying this. You can guess what I'll be doing over the next few evenings.

Pretty bass.....I've owned more MMS over the years than I can remember...wish I had known about the switch trick then , today it's more about p/u , preamp options and I can do that on any bass I own.....I just can't bring myself to bastardize a Stingray.
Still a wonderful example of a EBMM.

Currently running to my window every time I hear a truck nearby... Bass is coming in a day early too!

Nope, just pop off the control plate and check out the switch. The wiring is pretty straightforward.
So the little wheel in between the boobs is the intended position. The wheel on top of the boob is the ".5" positions.
