I was wondering specifically how you all use the ebs multicomp. In what situations would one prefer using the tubesim, multi or normal settings? I enjoy how this pedal makes my bass sound!

EBS multicomp uses

I use the normal setting with a lot of compression so that it pops a lot. I then place this just after my Octaver to nail that 80's punchy octaver sound. Then I use the Multiband with fairly light settings to get a nice natural transparent compression. The tube setting I rarely used. The good thing about this pedal is that it's a one knob compression and one for output level...super easy dial in.
The newest model is one good sounding pedal. As far settings I had the older first version of the black label and use the Tubism. But they are all good. I like the way the pedal brings out the highs. Its a bright sounding comp. These days many comps color the sound which I don't like. But EBS sounds good.

I used the Tube setting when I first got mine but mostly use the multi band setting, comp about halfway up. I love that it is simple with really one knob and the three settings. I have a Keely and an Accountant but the one I leave on all the time is the EBS.
I am usually using mine always on with my bass guitar.
Tube sim setting when I want some coloration in my tone.
Mild multiband setting when I have other parts of my signal chain providing coloration (all tube amp, overdrive, dirty boost.
Higher multiband setting for slap technique.
I have used Multicomp as a clean boost too (the "Comp/limit" knob counterclockwise)..mostly with my electric upright...

I use the multicomp setting. Don't forget their are trim pots inside the pedal you can adjust
Have switched back and forth over time between the tubesim and multiband settings. The former adds a bit of thickness and magic to the tone, while the latter adds more clarity and punch. I like compress the lows more for a tighter low end, while leaving the highs more lightly compressed.
Nice sounding comp pedal but it's made in China junk. I had to return mine due to some issues with it. The active/passive button wouldn't click or nothing and the foot switch made a weird noise as well. I might just save up a bit more for the Cali 76 compact. I dunno. Maybe will try another EBS down the road.
Much of their gear, once made in Sweden, is now made in China. Prices were not lowered in general, when production was moved. Many of their pedals are in the same price range as products made in Europe or USA.
The Cali76 is another great one. You won't be disappointed with that one. But for a simple comp you can carry around the EBS is nice. Sorry to hear your problem with it. Hate to say it but China has taken over the market especially as of the very recent and it looks like it wont stop.
I'm not knocking China by the way just think sometimes the quality control can be missed when they're being made overseas but I know nothing is perfect made in the states either so what do I know.
I might give another one a try. I did like the three settings. Tube sounded pretty good. Does anyone know of any tube compressors?
I've always been team tubesim. I used a black label older one for jeez...a decade and a half before trying a Cali to see what all the hub bub was about. I haven't gone back since the Cali, but the EBS kept me happy enough to not explore. I used to turn my knobs both to kind of point at the LED and engaged the passive switch on the side. It added a little something something and I preferred it at the front of my chain feeding into way too many effects.
Im a major fan of Multiband compresion, i mostly use them as VST in DAW. They give compression without SQUEZING, which in my experience is often too "lifeless". I love multiband comp for jazz, acoustic settings that sort of thing.
