Double Bass EBS Stanley Clarke Acoustic Preamp

When I look at Felix and EBS, I can see the following differences:

Felix' pros:
  • better connectivity (two XLR outs, ability to send different signal to FOH and different signal to the amp)
  • boost function
  • variable Q for mids
EBS' pro:
  • ability to put both channels in series-that way, one can use both notch and HP filters, one can use two bands of mids (though semiparametric)
The better connectivity of Felix is a big advantage in my book...

I'm a little puzzled at the A/B switching, without a clearly labelled Y/mix option. Does this mean you can only select between two sources and not mix them?

No. When you push the A+B switch and you are using both inputs (channel A input and channel B input), then your signals are being mixed.

The way to set the mix is to adjust the Gain knob on each channel… me thinks.

Here are the specifications for the EBS Preamp. It provides 48v for the Microphone Input on Channel B.
