I picked up a used Eden WT550 a while back. I am getting a fairly loud hum when I turn it on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar issue with a WT550 I previously owned. I solved it by moving these wires (see white arrows in pic below) away from the transformer and securing them in place with zip ties. I'm pretty sure it was the black ground wires that were the culprit (transformer induced ground loop) but I am not 100% certain as it was a while ago. The high voltage supply for the power amp board (red and blue wires) are also part of the wiring harness, so exercise proper cautions when doing this. If you are not skilled at this sort of thing, please bring the amp to an electronics tech with the information above in hand.

I had a WT550 with some failing components and a pretty bad hum as well. I took it to one of our local Austin shops and the tech was able to do some type of isolation for the transformer and changed out all the failing parts. It sounded great when I got it back though....still a minimal amount of hum compared to modern day stuff (like my Genzler that is dead quiet) but not an issue when gigging and was totally acceptable. Like suggested above, going to a tech is your best bet.

Good idea, opened it up and moves some wires away from the transformer... probably cut the um in half. Happy

I picked up an Eden WT550 a few months back and absolutely love it. With the killer tone shaping available as well as the heft behind every note it more than fits the bill for me.

A question I do have for those that have used them. Is there another head out there that is similar? Like if this head craps the bed and is not worth fixing.

I understand they are still out there, I'm just gathering info...

None that I’m aware of. DNA maybe, also designed by David Norchow. I can get pretty close with a Mesa WD-800 but it takes some serious work with the mid range parametric EQ at higher volume levels. The reason I bought it was because I was concerned with an all tube version Eden amp going on the fritz I bought after selling a WT-800.

I still have a Navi Preamp in a rack with the very heavy WT-1250 stereo power amp which to this day is the best sounding amp I’ve ever owned. If I were gigging a lot, I’d buy the rack ears for the Mesa store the WT-1250, run the Navi into AUX in of Mesa which gets real close to the typical Eden sound.
