Eden WT800 settings

Hey guys, I realize this is an old thread, but I’d like to throw this question out to you. I reciently was able to repurchase a nice Wt800B, a 8 ohm D210t, and a 4 ohm D410XLT. What are your though on running them together which would be a 6 ohm load? I realize the 410 cab more than likely handle my needs, but curiosity is- would they work well together if needed? The best way to run the two cabinets is probably with one from each channel in normal (stereo) mode.

There's no practical way to get a 6 ohm load by combining the two. If you combined them in series, it would become a 12 ohm load and, in parallel, 2.67 ohms. Neither combination is suitable for bridge mono mode. Just run one cabinet on each channel and use the balance control as needed.
 
Rewiring the cabinets might work, depending on the impedance of the individual drivers. However, there's very little to be gained in terms of extra volume, so I don't see the point. The rig should be more than enough run in stereo. Why do you want to change the impedance?
 
The cabinets you have will be compatible when run in stereo. Unless you use stereo effects the net result will be dual-mono anyway, just not bridged mode. Plus this way you can adjust the balance between the two. There's really nothing to be concerned about here. Just plug a cabinet into each side and play....
 
Just don’t want to have any issues with system. When I had the 2 each D410XLT’s, I ran them couples in mono. They were both 8 ohm cabs. I would like these all to be compatable in mono.
With two 8 ohm cabinets, it made sense to run the WT800B in bridged mono mode because it allowed the amp to put significantly more power into the two 8 ohm cabinets. This is because 8 ohms on each channel in stereo mode would have resulted in reduced output power (compared with 4 ohms).

However, now that you have a 4 ohm D410XLT and an 8 ohm D210T, it makes more sense to run them in regular stereo (dual-mono) mode. This is a better match with your current cabinets because the 4 ohm D410XLT will be getting full power from one side and the D210T will be getting roughly 2/3 of full power into 8 ohms from the other, which makes sense because the D210T cannot safely handle 440W anyway. If you did manage to rewire the cabinets for mono bridge mode, it would have to be done in such a way so as to ensure that the D210T received less than half of the power of the D410XLT (or less than 1/3 of the amp's total output), or else the drivers would be at risk of overpowering.

Thus, there is little reason to mess around with changing the impedance of your current cabinets in order to be able to run in bridged mono because the dual-mono mode is a better match. Your current setup, in dual-mono, is also easier on your amp than bridged mono into 4 ohms. There are also other factors to consider such as thermal and mechanical limits of the drivers (touched on above regarding the D210T). In short, dual-mono is the best, simplest, and safest, way forward with your current cabinets.

Thanks all. That’s why I came to you all. I knew I’d get the answer. I changed the hookup to dual mono, and as was said it works perfectly. Damn, these Edens are hard to beat. Killer rig with my Laklands. Ken
