it's a cool idea and it has some strong teammates, but I still remember the line 6 pedals like that...i'd love to see these take off, but who knows...it's easy to say they are cool, but hard to get a lot of people to buy these to make them feasible for the makers

I'm only seeing the limitations as opposed to the benefits. Costs $235 new for two, 4 knob pedals. No new features or benefits really other than you can pop carts in-and-out. Or am I missing something? Doesn't appear to give presets so swapping carts quickly means immediate knob fiddling, and the knobs as pictured are tiny and without any easy to see labels. No mention if you can hot-swap carts.

I suppose the advantage will be the used market. The carts since they're only $50 new for the Devi ones, they'll probably sell for $30 or less used. And for the DIY experimenter, it gives you a reusable chassis to jam your breadboard into. And that's probably where the REAL fun will show itself.

$185 for two four knob pedals.

The Console II comes with a Punch Love cartridge.

Labels are on the cart, cart sticks out just enough to see the labels.

Obviously it's hot swappable... they're cartridges.... lol.

But will you eventually need to do the blow-down-the-length-of-the-cartridge trick to get them to work? :hiding:

(anyone who's ever owned an Atari 2600, NES, Sega Genesis, SNES, etc knows exactly what I'm talkin' about. :D)

Also, very interesting idea. I can see it as a nice alternative for those of us with OCD as it relates to effects, constantly switching them on and off the board as the need arises.
Here's hoping that this is a great success and doesn't fall into obscurity as a novelty item.
Also, having the ability to switch between a B:Assmaster or a TAFM would be so sweet.
However, needs more effect types. :D

Agree 100%. I want to see the product in action! I was thinking about pre-ordering it, but I don't think that would be wise before it's even made. Plus the site set off my McAfee for being unsafe. Odd. Not putting my paypal on there.

ahhhh meny a hour of my childhood i spent blowing and breaking out the q-tip

i recently felt nostalgic so i brought a n64 and i find ive been blowing more than playing

EDIT: Seriously though, what about low-end retention. All of her pedals seem to be at least decent sounding on bass, but I wonder if that will translate through the cartridges.

Basically it's swapping circuits, they'll behave exactly like the pedals they're made after. It's just separating the PCB from the jacks and knobs, and mixing in a very convenient cartridge connection.
