Effects-- what's your fave and why?

I'm not too big on using effects on bass for what I mostly do as a bass player. However, neither of the above two pedals are what I'd call an actual effect. They're more along the lines of studio style signal shapers like preamps, compressors, and filters. About the only effect I will use is a delay to get a hint of slapback ambiance if I find myself in an overly dead room.

What I'll use with guitars, synths, or anything else is a different story.

I like modulation better than anything. I often run a Zero Point or a delay (T120) on a warble very low in the mix. Lofi shimmer. I have a healthy obsession with fuzz and overdrive but I usually play clean.

I have a Unit 67 on my guitar board always on. It makes things better.

The CS-3 is one of those pedals I keep returning to. One of these days I'll learn to stop looking around at other compressors and just admit that we're in a long-term relationship ...

I love effects but everything past my Turbo Tuner and BOSS BC-1x are "nice to have". My BOSS BC-1x is always on, so I'll go with that one. In addition to compression, it evens out the tone, and makes the bass more present in the mix.

I had a CS-3 long time ago. Hated it, noisy, loses a lot of low end.
