ZOIA is my desert island pedal. It can do everything, and a lot of that everything can be done exceptionally well. I would also bet the people at Empress would air drop you spare parts regardless of how remote that desert island was.

For bass, I keep going back to the Wampler Ego Mini compressor. Whether it's being used on live sound or for recording, with me on bass or somebody else, this thing just turns the bass signal into something punchy, nice-sounding and mix-friendly, without destroying the core tone. I have a bunch of other compressors, and they can get great results too, and can be more versatile for sure, but this one just always works without any fiddling.I generally dislike massive amounts of effects, so many of them are pointless... but I sure as hell love my BOSS CS-3. And you?
