Which effects do you severely dislike the sound of? (on bass, of course)

Not that it matters, I just wonder which bass effects are the "most hated."

I dont like the way bass wahs sound. just not my bag.

On a serious note... when it comes to effects, it's on an individual pedal basis. For example... I love overdrive, but I really can't stand the Boss ODB-3.

+1. If it's not really thick, I don't want it. I'm also not really a fan of octave and synth pedals. If you want to sound like you're playing a synth......................play a synth.

yes...for distortion I like a little fuzz face, or a little TS9...but I don't like ODB-3 much and I don't like MXR overdrive sounds

I like OD to deliver tasteful edge and grit, but not wack out the whole sound

I'm pretty much open to any general type of effect. But I don't like some specific pedals, like the Boss Looping pedal (forgot model), and the Boss OC-3. I also hate just about anything from digitech other than the JamMan and the Whammy.

I pretty much dislike chorus and filters. I dislike synths when they are used to sound like a synth. I like synths when used like distortion pedals (EHX bass micro).

im cool with most effects. i don't own and probably won't ever own a looper, reverb pedal, or EQ pedal. I can find a good use for any of those personally.

I don't own a compression pedal right now and don't have any want for one, i'm kinda anti-compression i guess.

I plugged into my guitarist's small clone the other night to test it, and I don't think I've heard a worse sound come out of my rig. Ever.

Ring modulators and synths; not that they sound bad, you can make weird noises with those, but you can't use'em very often if you wanna keep on being the "base" of your band. And as bass-shy said, if you want to sound synth, play one.

Auto-wahs make me frown, I'm zero funky.

It's not a bass pedal, but every one of the Boss Metalzone pedals should be seized from their owners and all schematics burned. Worst sounding guitar pedal ever.

On bass... I haven't seen many bands locally with bassists that are into effects so I can't say. Honestly, most of the effects y'all talk about round here I have never heard (on bass). My guitarist has a nice array of effects in his board.
