used and abused for over 6 years now, the 1st ever EGC bass with humbuckers:

Ive been thinking about one in plexi, either that or a EGC500 (like Aaron from YOB has)
Ron, the bass looks abit bigger than the normal guitar ones. Am I right?

Not sure, haven't gotten to play the guitar version, but it could be.
Mine also has a 34.5" scale neck so not sure if that effects the proportions or anything.

I never had heard of EGC but saw this listed on E-Bay. I was intrigued so I did my homework; then bought it.
Wow. I like it lots!
Interesting to me is that a lot of his fans, both guitar & bass players seem to be deep into hard-core thrash, metal, punk whatever.
I play mostly old/new school R&B,Funk & Soul, and this bass is a great vehicle for that type of music.
Serious thump; very clean and phat.Totally unique tone that you cannot get from a "traditional" bass.
The workmanship is excellent, the bass feels great; not too heavy, etc.
Personally, I think it looks stunning!

Very neat! You're right, most of his customer base seems to be involved with heavy music (myself included). That's neat that you use yours for that kind of music. I agree that they would also be great for that. Beautiful full range tone and massive low end. I don't really slap, but when I mess around with it on mine I can't believe how the thing can sing.
I love the black anodized.
The body is a bit big. And I love it. Unfortunately it doesn't fit in my hard shell fender case, which is pretty much brand new. It fits perfectly in my mono gig bag, which has a pretty good amount of protection considering. But for this tour I decided to just take the flight case that it was sent in. Its an excellent case, but thicker and longer than you're average HSC.
I'm loving this thing. Still deciding which I like more. Soloing the neck pickup or the bridge. It really puts out that nice chimey aluminum sound with one pick-up.
Most people do play heavy music with these things. I do as well. But with both pickups on it has an amazing thick/scooped tone. I played a bunch of Dunn/Jamerson riffs during sound check last night before I kicked it into shellac/jesus lizard mode.
Still learning my way around, but I am absolutely floored with the sound and feel so far.

I think that aluminum bodies and necks along with the very hot ECG pick-ups can produce a natural "over-drive", which is an awesome tone for heavy music.
But of course if you "lay back" with the eq, you can get a killer resonant "laid-back" phat tone for R&B, Blues, R'nR, whatever!
The dealer shipped my bass in a heavy-duty Access HSC which fits pretty well, and weighs about a 1/2 ton! (-:
