Its worth it you guys!
My first guitar, 9 String series two, took about 6months (this is some 3-4 years ago) then my Peavey T60 took around 9 months, as it was re-finished and the wood started bending and stuff. Was a hard project for Kev. The bass though, took about 2 weeks from my order to I had it in my hands (Kev had the body laying around, just needed to put on the neck) done!

Hey man - get yours yet?

I thought I saw you say you ordered a standard...I'm thinking of ordering a standard Bass VI baritone thing, but what is the difference between that shape and the doublecut les paul shape you were talking about? I thought they were basically the same thing...

I have said it before, but in theory it's shipping early next week, fingers crossed it's for real this time.

The OG "standard" shape (now discontinued as a normal model) has rounder horns than the new current "standard dc" which is what I am getting. The standard dc, is based on the Gibson flat top double cut Les Paul shape.

OK I thought so. I much prefer the double cut LP look.

Their site quotes at least a 9 month turnaround for a standard model and longer for custom. That's what's killing me. $3G investment that I wouldn't touch until 2015...

I've witnessed an ECG horror story first hand with a fellow musician here in town that waited entirely too long for her bass; that's also factoring into my apprehension of ordering one.

I hope yours will arrive soon!

Seems like I was lucky when I ordered my EGC!

9-string model took about 8 months back in what.. 2009/2010?
Peavey T-60 took about 5-6 months (had to be refinished and the body suddenly warped) it was crazy, also a couple of years ago.
Series Two bass took no more then 10 days from my order/payment same day, to I had the bass in hand! I asked Kevin if he had any in stock body or half-done basses, lucky for me he had that one! Just needed a finish, neck slapped on and pickups/wiring. Shipping took 5 days, he completed it in 5 days total! Me = Happy camper

When all is said and done I had a ton of small extra and custom features that he hadn't done before, so as much as I wish my bass showed up sooner, I'm fine with the extra time it took to make sure it's perfect.

Also makes me confident that Kevin didn't cut any corners and I'm going to get bass we're both happy with.

My EGC has landed.

I won't be able to give a full run through until tomorrow. But I did get to mess around with it for a little while through my GK 1x15 combo. Unfortunately playing in F at low volumes is essentially useless so I won't get a good feel for that until tomorrow.

However the rest of the bass sounded great. Nice and balanced, reacted nicely with my Demon King. Had to tweak some knobs but that was to be expected. I get the really cool oscillation feedback I was hoping it would do, so that's a win.

The neck is super comfy to play, it's exactly what I was hoping for as the RD artist that I've been using, the neck would get uncomfortable after too long.

Kevin made my neck have a solid core as opposed to the normal hollow setup he does on his other instruments. The good part is that it resonates amazingly and the added weight gives it more natural low end.

The downside is now it's a little neck heavy. Nothing outrageous, but worth noting. I picked up a couch strap to use, which is unfortunately really slick so it adds to that, so I may switch back to my old strap that has more grip to it. I'll give it a few weeks and see what I get use to.

Super happy with how it's turned out so far. Really just excited to get To use it in practice tomorrow night.
