I think I've found my noise solution! The Hum Debugger might just be what I'm looking for, and this video is quite the reassurance.

...Anyone have any idea when this one's scheduled to hit U.S. store shelves? I want to know!

Intriguing pedal. I wonder how it works? Maybe it takes the signal and flips the phase around and then mixes it back in with the dry signal, essentially "humbuckerizing" it and phase-canceling out the hum. Hmmm.

Sadly, keb, that just wouldn't work well. A lot of hum (especially from g#*tars) comes from the pickups, and the electronics has no way of discerning hum from signal and so it processes everything as signal.

The fact of the matter is, that hum cannot be magically extracted without having some effect on the signal. Especially for bass signals, given that hum exists right in that big-bottom frequency range.

I'm majorly sceptical about this product. I'm eager to see how it pans out.

+1 Me too. The ISP Decimator has been king of the heap for hiss-type noise reduction for a while, but hiss and hum are different animals.

They're different animals. Hum and hiss are at opposite ends of the audio spectrum.

Not sure when it's releasing yet (we all thought it'd be October). However, I've also realized I don't need the pedal.

It'd still be interesting to see what the pedal does eliminate though - is it strictly hum, or is there some hiss elimination, too? One is left to wonder what it really does beyond curing the problems of single-coil pickups...
