These Ferrules are such and odd size, & have been to every shop in Austin and San Antonio to no avail.

No Electras were sold in the UK so I've never saw those
tuner styles on a Electra/Westone just the ones I linked to.

Well, it does look like it would hang better than my old 630 Phoenix, but sorry, I'm not your savior. Even $250 is out of range right now

One month later I checked in... Still there and even $50 less. So I have a Walnut Genesis II in "excellent" condition for $199 coming my way. If it really is excellent that will be quite nice.
I'm impressed that they only charge $20 bucks to ship.

I know nothing about the old Electra basses, but they do look interesting.

In my never ending quest to uncover inexpensive hidden gems, I took a flyer on one of their recent Phoenix offerings.

The feature set attracted me to it. The EMG HZ reverse double P pickup array, two-band EMG pre, and the interesting 5-way pickup selector knob. Not to mention the Hipshot lic tuners and Babicz bridge. Lightweight and well balanced. Typical nice Korean build, fit and and finish, with a nicely grained ash body. And a nicely padded gig bag. Virtually no one seems know about this model, so they won't fetch much on the used market. Translation; Lotta bass for cheap money.

Still exploring the unorthodox electronics setup and the variety of sounds it can produce. At first I considered gutting the elecs in favor of a simple BTC tone circuit instead of the "alien" 5-way coil selection feature. But the more I dabble with it, the more I appreciate the uniqueness of the tonal palette.

Just picked this beautiful specimen up at a local pawn shop this afternoon. Looks like it's hardly been played. Aside from a few very minor scratches it's pristine. Can't wait to get started putting it to use.

That $199 Genesis I posted about a month ago. I have no idea how it sat in Guitar Center for six months.
Sure it REALLY needed a new set of strings, and benefitted greatly from a set-up, but JEEZUM CROW! This thing is amazing.

The pickups and controls on that Genesis look the same as on my Spectrum GT. Even the same knobs and pickup covers. Is it V/T/T with a push/pull phase switch like the GT?

Also, is that the stock bridge?

Stock everything I'm sure. no push pull knob on the Genesis. The bridge looks different from this photo angle, but it's the same as on most of the Spectrums.

I'm kicking myself for selling my Thunder 1, because I have an idea that might make Westones my #1 players.

My problem: every Westone seems to have a balance problem. Short upper horns and often bridge placement WAY into the bass body which makes (for me) a painful reach to get the E String first fret., and a neck that dives. I find them nice to play sitting, but uncomfortable playing standing with a strap.
I'm betting that a Thunder neck (20 frets) would bolt right onto my genesis (24 fret), which would allow me to remount the bridge a few inches back. The Genesis has a longer horn than most Westones.

What do you think? Is my next quest getting another Thunder one to disect? Anyone have an extra 20 fret Westone neck with the 2x2 tuner arrangement?

I bet I would like the sound of that bridge pickup much more if the bridge were a few inches further away

I just use a suede-backed wide leather strap with my Spectrum and it hangs fine. I used to have a nylon DiMarzio strap on it that lent it to neck dive.
