Electra/Westone club

I just use a suede-backed wide leather strap with my Spectrum and it hangs fine. I used to have a nylon DiMarzio strap on it that lent it to neck dive.

The neck dive bothers me much less than how far away the nut is when I'm wearing it.
A measurement that means a lot to me is this. measure the half way point between the strap buttons. now measure from that point to the nut. That determines how far the overall reach is.
On Westone basses that distance is far, and actually kind of painful. That's why I want to try a shorter neck, but keep the same scale length. I have NO IDEA why westone thought it was a good idea to put bridge a few inches up from bottom on the Genesis.

I've been eyeing one of these for quite some time. Finally negotiated a pretty solid deal and she's mine. The funky electronic controls and ergonomic jazzish neck and body make a it just as groovy feeling as I was hoping. Dual reverse Ps just have such an awesome even sound from high to low. This is my fourth bass with reverse Ps and I'm yet to be let down.

Very nice! Congrats! I have been curious about these basses for a while now myself. It certainly looks good. Enjoy!

What year was it made? The body looks sorta like a Guild Pilot. Did you add the Babicz bridge?

Very nice! These are really cool basses that sound brilliant. I snagged an ash/maple one and loved it so much, that when a black alder/ebony one popped up I bought that one too. The ash one sounds noticeably brighter than the alder one, and is lighter weight. Both basses are power houses with a nice variety of sounds on tap. True sleepers and not easy to find used.

It's all stock. The Electra brand was bought. This is a 2016 Korean made bass. Bridges are Babicz and pickups EMG special made standard. It has a funky 5-way pickup selector/splitter for the pickups.

Yeah all nice components went into these new Electras, including Hipshot ultralite tuners. I'm considering replacing the 5-way selector knob with a chicken head knob.

Restored my Thunder I a bit more to its original glory, put in a P and a J pickup again, the J already wasn't stock I put this one in over 30 years ago.

To better flow with the body, you could cut a "pick" shaped pg from the same material which would incorporate a couple screw holes already drilled and cover those not used.

After a long time of gigging only my Rickenbacker with my band, I took the Westone Spectrum GT out into the wild last night. This is the first time it's been out for an actual band gig in a while. All good basses deserve some love.
Understood. I unfortunately (fortunately?) own more basses than gigging ops, as it is a hobby at this point in life. So I resolved to rotate them all in as I do play out, that way they all get love

In case anyone was wondering about how the 5-way knob works......
