Double Bass Elegy for my Clarus; Goodbye old friend

The Clarus SL is the small little sucker right??
I thought it was supposed to kind of take the place of the original Clarus sound wise?

It's actually a little smaller and a few lbs lighter than the original (sub 2lbs I think). It's definitely tiny enough to just stash in my db bag/bg gigbag. My old Clarus will get to the shop tomorrow. Hopefully they'll give her a new lease on life. Nevertheless, I should be getting the SL in a few days too.

Well, My newly refurbished Clarus arrived in the mail today. They
must have put new guts in it, because it is slightly heavier than it was before, and it is also pushing my EA CXL112 like never before.
But the best is yet to come. There was NO CHARGE- as in $0.00-
for this repair AND, since I now have the new Focus 2R, They also sent an UPGRADED amp bag with red velvet lining, also at no charge. Kudos to Rick and the guys at AI. They were great.

Terrific service from AI yet again. The old lunchy is back in a brand new bag (thanks guys) and it sounds better than ever...and quiet as a mouse. The Clarus SL is too cool for words. I'm very glad to have both of them. I took them both to a gig on Sunday in my backpack (just in case)...it is pretty nice to be able to haul two amps in the same bag. The Clarus SL is so small and light that it's essentially non existant.

I'm glad to report a happy end to this thread, and I look forward to many more gigs with old lunchy!

Next stop for me will probably be a Focus SA to use with the SL...a 5lb pre/power amp setup!
