Double Bass Elusive Mark Bass Amps

Where have the Americans on this board gotten their Mark Bass heads? I want a Little Mark II real bad, but I can't find them anywhere...not even eBay.

I went to Guitar Center, since I guess they're going to be a dealer, and they couldn't special order them yet. The only guitar centers that have them only have one or two maximum. How can I get one of these bad boys?

I got my Markbass amp from a place in Toronto called the 12th Fret. They were helpful and fair. They're on the web, so check it out if you're still looking. This business is listed on the Markbass site as a dealer. They don't list these amps on the site, but when I called they got it for me. Happy hunting!

I got mine at a local guitar center--but they haven't had them in since. They got two in--a 121p and a 2x10 combo--then nothing for a month, then two more (I bought one) then nothing since-it's been around 5 months. At least I haven't seen any on there--I don't go in too often

I don't have the little mark, I don't think--markbass has a complicated set of product names. I have the CMD 121p, the 1x12 combo. I paid $699

There's no way to blend the xlr and 1/4 inputs, and to be honest, I've never tried running both at the same time, so I'm not 100% sure you can.

I like the amp a lot--it has a really different tone than most bass amps, which constantly try for a really crispy hi fi sound. I'm very sensitive, I think, to irritation from the high end. The mark bass has a fatter sound, less treble-forward, more midrange. It's really a bass amp--the eq is really set up for bass players, which IMHO isn't the case in some other gear. It's great for electric bass. For double bass, it's very good but not great--the tone is a little boxy and less open or airy than some rigs. But it's a very effective sound, and convenient

I have wondered if that darker mid-range character of the CMD 121p might be to my liking ... Might have to visit NoVa w/ my upright sometime and check it out pal ...

But as far as the LM II head goes, from what I've read here on TB they don't have that same type of character. Just clean and accurate according to many. Like macmrkt here.

The CMD121P needs to be off the floor for DB use. A chair is fine. I still like the Berg EX112/LMII combo for DB best. Looking forward to the new MarkAcoustic and Micro/Mini combinations...these may really be the DB answer. Best guess is this Spring for US/Canada arrival on these new units. Although they better hurry - the micro amp category is heating up a bit!
