EMG PJX Question

Hi Tbers,
Ive finally decided to stop lurking and post something. Currently in the process of building a Warmoth Dinky J . I am at the point where i need to decide pickups routes. I had been planning on doing a PJ with the EMG PJX pickups. The reason i had been planning on doing this was because I really like the sound if lone P or a Soloed bridge J and i like the sound of the PJX together. I was doing some reading on here and had read that a PJ pickup dosent produce even volume levels when the pickups are soloed. I was wondering if the PJX suffered from this problem and if it did what could be done to remedy it. Thanks For any input :bassist:

I can't speak for the PJX, but I have had EMG PJ setups on a couple of my basses and while the J pickup is thinner sounding than the P (a result of being closer the bridge) the volume balance between the two pickups is fine, especially if you have an onboard EQ circuit to put some lows into the J pickup when it's soloed.
