EMGHZ'S or Bartolini's

Hello All,
i just picked up a beautiful '94 Fender MB-5. I'd like to replace the pickups. Which do you think will work best for hard rock. EMGHZ's or Bartolini's. I've had experience with the EMG's and loved them. Don't know much about the Bart's.

I don't care much for the HZ's or EMG's. The HZ is their passive pickup and just doesn't do it for me.

Go with the new Aguilar DCB pickups, they're far superior

hey thats really a matter of opinion, i mean what might be great sounding pick ups for one Bass Player,might be horrible to the next! for example, in my opinion, EMGs are way to brite for my taste ! but my Brother who also plays Bass loves them & wouldnt trade them for the world! of course you'll have to take in consideration the pre amp its being paired with! I will say this much if it helps,, having experienced both EMGs and Barts! EMGs paired with an OBP 1 pre! for rock, kicks ass! but again thats just my opinion ! you might agree or not! I suggest for you to take a trip to your local music store find a couple basses with similar settings (pick ups/pre amps ect.) and compare . gd luck!!

I prefer the Barts for their rich Low Mids, but it is correct that it is each to his own...Try both
