Enough is Enough (GAS)

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by Jason Hale, May 13, 2004.

  1. IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT
PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER
4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL
    COMPANIES.

THEREFORE MAY 19TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP THEIR
BEHIND DAY." THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS
MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.

WAITING ON THIS ADMIINSTRATION TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES
IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN
PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?

REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT
AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING
COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON
EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING MATERIALS,
MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE
DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE MAY 19TH A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

We don't want to bring down the price of gas, the cheaper it is the more we'll consume, the less we'll have the bleaker our future looks.

Anyone notice the gas is getting bad? I used to be able to run 3 weeks on a tank, but now it's down to like 2 weeks, same amount of driving. I can see the gas meter go down as I drive places, which has never happened before... So the gas is getting worse and worse, yet getting more expensive? Hey, I'm down-That's my birthday!

  8. amen bro!

i dont think it's spam. i think it might work, maybe not 1 day off, but like 1 week off would put them to shame...

i mean face it guys, GAS IN AMERICA IS TOO MUCH, i mean, its rediculous, it cant be that much to harvest.

all our cars should be on hydrogen anyway :D

I don't want to be anywhere near a collision between two hydrogen cars. :D

Good Luck with your protest, but it seems pointless. Gasoline will need to be bought at some point and defeat the whole "movement."

Want to save the world? Develop a car that runs on something cheap and feasible (i.e. not solar or hydrogen). I saw program on two college students who altered a VW Bus to run on the waste grease from restaurants. Then they drove the vehicle from the Atlantic to the Pacific, or vice versa.

Think our gas is high, check out some of the costs from around the world. The exchange students from my old high school would talk about gasoline being the ecquivalent to 4-5 dollars per gallon in some places.

You can make biodegradable deisel for like $.78 cents a gallon or some such. Only problem is making it in enough quanties to make it worth it. And then, you might have 100 gallons of fuel, but it's hard to refuel on the road.

    Might work for urban folks.

You are free to think whatever you like. But it doesn't actually change the reality that it is indeed spam.

My suggestion - buy a hummer and make snopes.com your default browser page. ;)

you know whats interesting... I thought about this today... now don’t kill me for this but gas prices are not that high:/
It sounds bad yes... but consider this... 11 years ago... 2littler bottle of coke cost 89cents... and gallon of gas was.... 1.20 now coke is.... 1.50 gallon of bas is... 2.40... think about that... I still think its horrible price especially with low wages (minimum wage) going up only from 6$ to $7 now that’s bad...
While i agree that gas is high priced i think there are more problems then that we must face:]
Truth is... we should stop thinking about how to mess something up instead think of new ways of energy... progress always comes from negative views...

Example: Ancient Egypt and everyone after had Engine and could have industrial revolution but they didn’t because... they had slaves/cheap labor... when that was over... humans were forced to make progress... you can think of gas similar way... just think... when we wont be able to breath we might start thinking about cleaning up pollution...

Just think about that... I don’t know if my thought on this today is true... again I was just thinking about it and it came to me... I might prove myself wrong tomorrow... that’s what thinking is all about... I think we should be more thoughtful about our ideas... that way we can be taken serious...

I dono... i think we can think of better way if we stop being rational and more thoughtful in our ideas and actions... i admit that what i said might not be true... and if you want you can say so... i dont mind...

this post is prob going to get closed very soon though:] so mods... sorry that i got involved... :] but it is intresting thought that it might be inflation:]

    Cheers

soooooo think about this... India and china becoming more economic involved... both have around +10 gdp grow rate in past 10 years... middle class growing... India is industrilizing more people have money... they buy cars... they need gas... what happens when supply doesnt keep up with damand:] prices go up.. :] woopie... happy thoughts god i luv economy:]

    again just a theory/thought:]

    Cheers

Anybody want to come here and pay $5.00 a gallon. Filled up my 320i on Monday and it cost $50USD.

    Smash...I'm paying CDN $1.50 a liter!!!

  15. A Brit comedian, who I admire greatly, called Bill Bailey does a great comedy music routine (he's a classically trained pianist and a great guitar player so he is actually qualified to take the piss properly) made an equally pertinent point through a song called 'I Won't Look At Titties for a Year' - essentially if American's stopped buying porn for a year and put the 3.5 Billion dollars it makes towards feeding the third world - they would pretty much wipe out such poverty - makes yer think eh?

The fact that you took the time to make that graph DEEPLY disturbs me!

  17. we had somethign similiar a year or two ago, it went on for 1-2 weeks, really cant remember, in the end petrol stations were pretty much emptied, only docters/fire brigades/police were aloud petrol, and after the "strike" a litre of fuel dropped by around 10p (20-30 cents).
