Enter the Void

Just watched it. Wow.

I need to watch it again. I hate when I tend to stop and rewind stuff to confirm what I think I took in / make opinion, but this is a movie I had to do it multiple times, and it messed up the flow. Pretty linear and first-person, but just not always, and it messed with me a bit at times.

Ditto; it's not like those images are easily forgotten anyway. But I'll have to check this one out; thanks for the recommendation.

Another difference is that this is not a Japanese director working in Japan with Japanese actors with a script written in Japanese. This is a French director working in Japan with multilingual actors of various nationalities with a script written in English. So not only are these entirely different movies, but the approach to the process is different as well.

You forgot to warmly welcome him to TB. :D

I've read through some of his threads, massive troll. And not the funny, good natured, Eric albany kind of troll.
And props to Maki, you sir own.

And I've been watching a lot of weird, drug related movies (just watched 'a scanner darkly' earlier). I'll have to check this one out.

Yeah it should fit in nicely with your current movie phase. Hope you enjoy it.

You guys watched Irreversible, I stand alone or Carne?

Just watched it. Another great flick. Very heavy and hard to watch in parts but powerful and thought provoking. He definitely tends to have an affinity using birth, pregnancy, and inception as a metaphor and vehicle for his thematic ideas. IMO, he's still developing his style, transitions, and cinematography that is much more refined and better executed in Enter The Void.

1. I didn't say 'ever seen' I said in the last 10 years - and I might have been exaggerating.
2. I'm not lifting my computer and I don't play guitar.
3. It's 'you' or 'u', get 'off the fence' (give it a moment you'll see what I did there) and make a decision already. You can't use both. Especially in the same sentence.
4. It's offense. (In case you didn't see what I did there) None taken.
5. STFU - no offense.

:D

This might be the best shake down I've read in a good, long while. Well played sir !!

One of my fav Canadian films is on Netflix now. Last Night. It's a bit strange, as it turns an entire genre on it's ear ( end of the world ) but the underlying story is excellent and the characters are oddly memorable. I absolutely loved the ending. There was a lot of thought that went into the making of it, for as sparse a film as it is. That appealed to me.
