envelope addicted

My ears concur with yours. Kinda have sellers remorse over the EP-1 at times, but I had to sell it to fund the EP-2.

I love the phaser on the Ep-2 sooo much more as well as the compact size and the blend feature. etc. etc.

Both are staying with me for a while. I dig the envelope (+ or - phase) on the EP-1 and its phaser but it can't blend both like the EP-2, which is killer. That and the envelope and phaser sound different enough of on both. I really don't like the staccato or the +phase envelope on the EP-2 though.

Ya I keep thinking Ill find a setting for the staccato switch and go OOooO thats it. But nope, not so far and Ive tried.

I got a Groove Regulator you can try out sometime, I'm not to far, in Riverside. One of the best filters Ive used for live settings.

I really REALLY wanna try out the Grinder someday. :ninja:

Okay, I'm an absolute envelope junkie!!!:hyper: Keep in mind that I play a non-dynamic synth keyboard, so I don't worry as much about volume spikes. Even though my keyboard and modules can make tons of funky sounds, I still run them through envelope filters for extra funk. Here's my somewhat embarrassing list of filters I've owned and still own:

Currently own: Mars Real Sound Yesman+; Line 6 OTTO Filter; Multivox Big Jam Spit Wah; DOD FX25B; Behringer DW400; EHX Riddle; Guyatone WR3

Used to own: EHX Tube Zipper; Ashdown Bass Envelope Filter; EMS BassIQ; Emma Discumbobulator; Maxon AF-9 (reissue); Boss FT-2; Digitech Bass Synth Wah; Korg Synthepedal; Univox Effectmatic; Musitronics Mu-Tron III; Akai Variwah; MXR M-120 Auto Q; Jacques Trinity Wah; Ibanez AW7; Memphis Attack Trigger; Seamoon Funk Machine; Guyatone Funky Box, WR2, WRm5, Crossover Box, and Ultron; Chunk Systems Agent 00Funk Mark II; WMD Fatman; Onerr Touch Wah; Electrix Filter Queen; Moogerfooger Low Pass Filter; Rocktron Heart Attack; Behringer VB1 Vintage Bass; Gig-FX Mega-Wah; Gig-FX KiloWah; EHX Bi-Filter

Have been playing a long time and only used the ocasional flanger.
Have owned a Mutron for over 20 years and never used it (bought it cheap back in the day)
Now playing with some drifters that dabble in some funk and thought I needed to put some thang on a tune or two.
The Mutron is cool but the whole gain ordeal for one or 2 songs is a pain.
Now have an FX25 and FX25B; don't think I want to sell them but don't love them either.
Am thinking that the new MXR might get close to the Mutron thang but still allow for a cleaner bass tone (or at least allow for some clean signal mixed in) as well as decent bypass.

Normaly I'd laugh at the idea of buying a pedal for such limited use; these filters seem different in that you can actualy play the filter and/or use it to really affect your bass part as opposed to kicking on some noise maker and playing the identical part.

Of course, I maintain the right to just call this another hair brained thought!
