Man, do I relate to that! That mirrors my experiences with them, too. On the bright side, nobody's complaining that I'm not using envelope filterI'm having the hardest time finding one I love too, they're either too lacking in the low end and just sound like a "quack", or they get too subby and can't be heard at higher volumes. Ugh

It's fun to play with at home though, and you get an automatic workout for the face muscles too, can't help getting a bass face with an envelope filter.
