Hi Filterfunk, why not the Micro Q Tron? I thought the circuitry between the two was the same? I only have the Micro, it's ok, a bit peaky and the internal trim pot needs adjusting to your liking, is the Mini Q Tron any different?

After owning both, I found the Micro to be kind of harsh and abrasive-sounding, while the Mini was much warmer and smoother while still having plenty of old-school squelch. If the circuitry is the same, it must be arranged differently or something. I never did mess with the internal trim pot in the Micro, though.

DOD FX25B here, and IMHO its the best. make sure to keep an eye on fleabay if you are after an FX25b prices fluctuate and I have seen them sell between 40 and 120.00 for one in good working condition.
